CMS's against Burnley the other week was easily the best BHA goal I've seen live. I think seeing goals live makes you appreciate them even more; I'm not sure that the TV footage did that particular goal justice anyway, and it helped that it was scored right in front of the away support.

Its not a contender for "best ever" but I always thought Buckley's first goal vs. Doncaster was fantastic technique: striking it just off the gorund, keeping it low into the corner.

For me though, Zamora's goal at Halifax will likely win although CMS' against Burnley was astonishing too.

One of my favourites of recent times is Murray's first against Southampton (our Gus' first game in charge). One-two, decent ball from Coxy and lovely controlled finish from Glen. Whatever happened to him?

Willie Irvines goal for Brighton v Aston Villa. March 1972 - YouTube

Brighton won 2-1 thanks to this CRACKER from Northern Ireland international Willie Irvine ...

Every time this topic comes up,I tell NSC that THIS is THE goal.I know it's a long time ago,I know there have been brilliant goals since, but THIS beautifully constructed and brilliantly executed effort against top opposition puts all those others in the shade. And I'm delighted to report that ..................I WAS THERE !

We need to tell FourFourTwo, the only reason I put it up here is because it's always the same answers to the same questions every year, always answered by a tiny cross section of support.

The contact details are in the link on the op.

Dean Wilkin's free kick vs Ipswich. The tension and anticipation in the build up to that perfect free kick was unforgettable.

I tend to go for team effort goals so Willie Irvine's against Villa was actually bettered by a goal by Bobby Z against Wimbledon in a Cup match against Wimbledon at Withdean, Gary Hart played collected the ball (centre circle) played out of defence for Steele to run the left wing and cross at full speed for Bobby Z to meet it with a header on a breakaway. The video clip only shows the finish and not the build up.

If you cannot remember it, imagine if Buckley's run against Newcastle was not finished off smartly by Simpson but had reached Macca arriving at the far post. Fine finish by Simpson though.

For an individual goal Peter Ward's against Mansfield in the late seventies gets my vote. Ashley Barnes gets on the score sheet for a good goal in the Kazenga video. For a set piece, Kazenga again.

Strangest goal, Kit Napier against Chesterfield, early seventies. Same season as Willie Irvine's.
