It would appear you went to Newman mate so that would explain a lot. Yes everyone knows about the 1932/3 fiasco. But my point is in October 1902 the Albion beat Shoreham 12-0 as they were in those days OBLIGED to qualify they didn't forget. Jeez! In 1932/3 we lost to West Ham in the 4th Round if memory serves me correct.

Yes but it says OCTOBER 1932. Is no one there who can read it to you. My point is that in 1902 we were obliged to qualify. We didn't although we beat Brighton Athletic and Shoreham on the way. We lost to Ilford before first round proper. I thought everyone knew that.

That wasn't the point you were making originally, TLO said we won an FA Cup qualifying game 12-0, you said that it happened in 1902 not 1932. We did win an FA Cup game 12-0 in 1932 so you we're wrong, just because it didn't happen on the date in the first post is irrelevant. I'll repeat it again as i know your grasp of the English Language is poor at best, your reply to the TLO post was that the 12-0 win happened in 1902 not 1932. Your point broken down to a basic level was we didn't win an FA Cup game 12-0 in 1932. You made no reference of the date we played the game. Yet again you are wrong and are clutching at an ever decreasing packet of straws to make yourself look right.

The question centered around September 1932 . We did not as per your Argus link.

I thought we made it to the 5th round in 1932/33?

Yep you're right. Just found the programme we palyed Shoreham on Saturday October 1st 1932. So for the purposes of the OP's question it ain't that.

With respect, mr hove born&bred, you're having a bit of a shocker in this thread to this point.

Sadly, that is absolutely all I can contribute to this thread.

How come NOBODY (apart from me) knows the answer?

Put em out of their misery LB.

Artois was right but not fully right in respect of the question. If Patsy Clyne , the best left back in Britain, hadn't shoved Will over in the penalty area this January 80 years of hurt would be over.

I'm guessing it's something like the last time Palace did the double over us?

SeagullSongs - sorry I missed your post - spot on. Last league double by Palace over the Albion.

I love the thought of the 9,000 Goldstone crowd trudging home muttering "I hope that's the last time I see that in my lifetime" :D

Here's to another 80 years.:drink:

My only hesitation is that the original post has the right month, but not the right day. I've only just noticed that. Did you edit the original post? I'm sure it was right when I first read it.

edit:- I've just checked again. Ignore this. I may have got the whole thing WRONG

Haven't edited LB.

Wed 31st August 1932 - Palace 5 Albion 0
Wed 7th Sept 1932 - Albion 1 Palace 2

Wartime matches are excluded from official records - that's some run - about 25 attempts and the Palace still can't do it !
