At first glance, the odds don't look at all good.

Fernando Alonso 1/25
Michael Schumacher 8/1

Alonso only needs a single point in the Brazilian Grand Prix to clinch the title.

However...

Schumacher's team-mate, Felipe Massa, is Brazilian, which gives him local knowledge. Plus, he's plenty capable of knobbling Alonso. As indeed is Schumacher. He's got previous.

So, THPP's advice is have a punt on Schumacher on bhabet at 8/1 (he's currently only 5/1 on betfair). Apart from anything else, it's live on ITV at 5pm tonight, and it's Schumacher's last race before retiring from F1. One of the rare occasions when it's well worth watching cars go round. And round. And round. A genuine EVENT.

Get ON!

Have not doubt Schumacher will be after it - however his engine won't take it if he goes at it like he did yesterday! He'd rather dump his car in the tyre wall, or blow his engine than finish without a win today I think!! Even go as far as to punt Alonso off...

Should be good for a watch though...I'd never put money on F1 - team orders still exist (although against the rules) and Schumacher can play dirty...

gonna be the 1st F1 race for me this year! Should be good to watch as I like racing at Interlagos (in my racing sim).

Was gonna watch last nights V8 Supercar race but the TV blew up downstiars (Sky+ it) so MOTHER has gone to buy a new box. Means I gotta watch tonights race before yesterdays......oh dear :D

What's your name Gareth Glover? Schumacher to win the Championship is 17-1 on betfair. He is 4-1 to win the race.

I won't be betting but the Red bulls have Ferrari engines this year and next. Shame if Klien or Couthard took a Renault out when they were being lapped wouldn't it?

have an awful feeling that the german prick might just pull it off

If it was a horse race and the jockey was having his last ever race before retiring, the other jockeys would invariably (heavily disguised, in the way that jockeys are adept at) let him win. It's one of the unspoken rules of horse racing. Can't see the same applying in F1 somehow. Can easily see the dirty tricks kicking in tho. It's a MUST-SEE! :clap2:

I look forward to hopefully watching the arrogant German **** fail, and I'd love to see Alonso do to him exactly what he did to Damon Hill and tried to do to Jacques Villeneuve, except I suspect Alonso is far too professional for that kind of thing.

Another impressive race for Willaims. Both out in the 1st lap. What the f*** has happened to the once mighty Williams. They need to sort themselves out as they have been out of sorts for a few seasons now:nono:

He's not half the driver Schuey is though. Think he'll get shown up next season in the McClaren.
Agree with the first point at the moment but he is a very very talented driver who will win more championships IMHO.

Love the commentary as we watched the Rosberg crash replay, the back end of the car is missing, the nose is crushed and two wheels are hanging off, and the informed opinion is "I think something might be broken there"
