Max Sanders (who made three appearances for Albion in the Carabao Cup in 2020-21) was released by Lincoln City at the end of the season. He has just signed a two-year deal with League One Leyton Orient.

Joe Ward (who Albion signed from Chelmsford City in the summer of 2015 after a successful trial and spent two seasons with the club) has spent 5 & 1/2 seasons with Peterborough United after joining them in January 2018. Despite being offered a new three-year deal with Posh, he has moved instead to League One Derby County (also on a three-year deal).

James Beresford (who spent a number of years in the Albion academy but wasn't offered a scholarship after his U-16 schoolboy season) has spent time since he left the Seagulls with Worthing, Lancing, Lewes and Eastbourne Borough. He has been with Worthing for the last couple of seasons but has now signed for Thai side Uthai Thani FC who have just been promoted to the top tier of Thai football.

Goalkeeper George Bentley (who was released after his scholarship at the end of the 2018-19 campaign) has recently signed for Isthmian League South East Division side Herne Bay.

Not a move, as such, but just-released goalkeeper Toby Bull made only three appearances for the U-21s in 2022-23. He wasn't spending all his free time playing Fortnite though (or whatever the kidz are up to these days) as he has just completed his Master in Football Business Management from Sports Business Institute Barcelona.

I recall Max Sanders and was it Dessie Hutchinson or something close to that who really looked promising midfield prospects 4ish years ago in the U21s or whatever it was called then. I think Hutchinson may have gone back to Ireland and hurling and Max didn’t seem to feature in GP’s plans. Just reminds one again how few make it to PL level

On the face of it good moves for all three of them.

Ward was considered one of the best players in a half decent Posh side. I’m surprised he hasn’t got a championship move although you can be sure he won’t be short of a few quid from that move.
Glad to see Max Sanders is carving out a career in the pro game.

Polish centre-back Kacper Lopata signed a two-year professional contract with Albion in October 2018 (he had been involved in various academies as a schoolboy but was studying at SGS College in Bristol when we signed him). He started last season at National League Southend United but left the club in early March, terminating his contract amid the financial shitfest that the club was enduring thanks to its owner. He signed with Woking towards the end of March, for the rest of the campaign, but earlier this month signed a four-year deal with League One Barnsley.

Joe Ward is one of three Derby have signed in past couple of days - one from Posh, one from Rotherham and one from Hull - think all three have won League One with their past teams or got promoted with them out of League One

James Tilley, after 2 & 1/2 years at Crawley Town, has moved to League Two AFC Wimbledon on a two-year deal.
CTFC fans and AFC Wimbledon have beef, Crawley fans won't be wishing him well there.

A bit Brighton Palace really, or maybe Brighton Orient. Crawley and AFC came into the league together, Crawley as National League champions and AFC via the play offs after finishing second, a bit of rivalry from that season and the one before. Nearest thing to a local derby most seasons, so Crawley take numbers there and they bring numbers to Crawley, giving those games a bit more away noise than either club would normally see, and the associated banter and a bit of fisticuffs.
Last season AFC were back in L2 after relegation from L1. Crawley finished 22nd, AFC 21st, so likely relegation rivals this season too.

Thanks - great explanation
