Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem in the city centre. Beautiful old 12th century inn, the interior is mostly made up of caves and caverns, wonderful place. Decent grub, loads of tables outside if its decent weather, and only a short cabride from the ground, so it won't be mobbed.

It's only about a ten minute walk!

Hooters is just another over-priced hole which serves pretty shit food. I don't get in 'til half 1 but will probably head somewhere around the river or near ish the station for a couple.

Went there last season for the County game and it was excellent. Food and drink was good and very reasonably priced. There were also plentiful big screens to watch the lunchtime game. And of course we were were served by some very nice young ladies.

Half the blokes who moan about the place are usually those well under the thumb from insecure other halfs who have some half baked misconception that the place is tantamount to a strip bar. All the sexy outfit stuff is just tongue in cheek and some chaps need to grow a pair.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get to the ground from the station?

Ehh? Or you could look on the flip side and say that the majority in there are 14 year olds, or old men who get excited at the fact a mildly attractive lady might have a low cut top on, and agree to pay way over the odds because of it. I'm sure pretty much any bloke would have the 'balls' to walk in there, just dont see the point in paying over the odds to be served by someone in tight clothes. If you want that, go full hog and get yourself into Platinum Lace.

this is where i will be.

those that think it is seedy have obviously never been there.if you are after a nice tasting real ale then this is not for you.

if you want a few beers before the game where you can get something to eat while you watch sky sports then hooters fits the bill.
not forgetting that it is a walkable distance from the ground & the staff just happen to have lovely arses

It will be The Old Trip to Jerusalem for us. It is the place to be. Last year we saw QE2, Jesus, Osama Bin Laden among others. fantastic pub with amazing character.

Her Majesty won't be there this time

She has a prior engagement in the evening I gather. Probably entertaining the King of Tonga or something.

Thats the pub just down from the castle isn't it? I remember going there with an ex who was at Derby uni at the time 10 years ago. Time flies :-/

Nottingham was a big improvement on Derby, thats for sure.

Up the Albion.

Hooters is probably best to avoid as personally I think its overpriced, but then i'm a student and would happily complain at anything but free beer.
Stratford Haven is the best but a ways out. City Centre . . plenty of bars/pubs to choose from 3 wetherspoons just of main square.

I reckon it's a bit more than a 10 minute walk to the ground though. 20 at least
