I’m sure they’ll want to win that trophy more than the Carabao cup so would expect them to field a weaker team in our game, especially with Chelsea away sandwiched in between

They desperately need a top 4 finish and CL football 2023/24, their vast spend puts them in danger of breaching UEFA FFP rules.

= 35 cup finals. Ditto Spuds and Chelsea.

Heartbreak from nearly winning the EL for a few British clubs, cost wrecked EPL seasons with knackered players on Sunday’s and bugger all UEFA income from the tournament.

They won’t take the Europa League seriously. It’s worth bugger all, with low odds of a win.

Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal on vast playing buying operations this summer, desperately chasing top 4 places come May 2023.

Arsenal have spent £278m in fees in 15 months, despite having zero CL income.

FFP after them it seems.

Disagree on the EL, You can get through with the kids and have it in the back pocket for CL in case the league drops off.

It’s also the penultimate game before the World Cup break so wonder how many international players will be keen to sit this one out to avoid risking injury !

Looking back at tonight's team, it's simply amazing that this second string /youth 11 included 3 current full internationals, 4 current u21 internationals, Lamps (who's somewhere between the two) and last season's top scorer in the Belgian Pro League...

I thought ‘we’ were very quiet, hardly anything got going, most of what did was aimed at their number 3, Bernard, who seemed to have a permanent wedgie. .

Long narrow terrace with awful acoustics…..not sure it was even possible to really get anything going. Nice ground though

Took 40 mins to queue up for food. I would have given up in most circumstances but the view of the pitch got better as you approached the end of the queue. The vegan sausage roll and chips was very average. The stewardesses were all very friendly.

Mitoma looked very hacked off to be subbed. It seems a sensible move since he's likely to be on the bench Saturday and Tuesday. But lots of shaking of the head. I liked that he felt he had more to do.

I thought it was plastic when we first arrived. Astonishing.

The pitches are also mostly artificial now- aren’t they all like 80% artificial 20% real grass? That’s why they look so good

3 nice goals in terms of the build up and finishes. From the highlights, Van Hecke's passing caught my eye. Correct me if I'm wrong (I might well be), but I think it's was him played the ball into Undav Lin the build up to the first goal and his long pass to Furlong before the final goal.

Aside from that, good to see Enciso trying to make things happen. Shame he couldn't get on the score sheet.

Didn’t think he had a very good game. Started lively, but after that nothing he tried really came off……some poor crossing attempts in particular. Undav didn’t look 100% either, seemed to be carrying a knock 2nd half. Impressed with Ferguson and Van Hecke in particular, and Moran looked sharp when he came on. Alzate and Colwill stood out as the more composed, experienced players as you might expect.

Stewards and staff very friendly, catering poor from what I saw/had and wholly inadequate facilities for 1200 away fans.
