What a muppet, did you not think to check before you left? What would have been your max payment? I agree it's a silly amount but if I had bothered to get to the ground I would have paid it!

Indeed. Surely if money was an issue, you would have the sense to check before you went. The word Muppet springs to mind.

I don't think most people are saying he should have just paid it - £39 is an absolute joke - but more like they're saying it's quite an odd thing to do to just turn around at the turnstiles. As for principles - yes well done sir you stuck by them. But those same principles also made you miss a great performance and fairly historic result. One to tell the grandchildren. Not.

I don't deny it was a great performance missed based on what I've read, and I'm really pleased that we won. However historic result is probably going a bit far given that we've also won at Elland Road in two of the previous three seasons.

I'd imagine this performance will have faded way before I'm in a position to bore my grandchildren, but maybe the day I refused to pay £39 to watch second tier football to another club that has previously wantonly splashed cash everywhere will live longer in the memory.

Why's that?

POTG was 39 quid.
Easy decision for me as I only came from Shipley - One stop on the train from Leeds. But to pay £39 to another club for second tier football is obsence.

Whilst I feel vindicated by my stand, despite the 2 mile walk back into Leeds by my two mile walk back into Leeds, I can't help but smile at the result!

Come on you super seagulls.

Congratulations, you are now our lucky mascot and will need to do this for every game home & away. I know this is going to cost a fortune but it's for the greater good, top man.

Leeds fans paid £19.
Disgusting. Companies and shops are not allowed to provide services at different prices for different races or nationalities, so why are football clubs allowed to on the basis of which team one supports? How would Leeds fans like to pay double for their groceries in Brighton tesco when locals pay the cheaper rate?

A mere £39 to see the champions of Europe I call that a bargain. It must be hard being a supporter of Leeds as e very hone game must be a category A game due to the mighty Leeds playing every time.

Its not just Leeds believe central blocks if wsl are over £40 for category A games at the Amex.

If you look at the potg price it was only £13 a point.

I think everyone, even Hockaday by pre-match quotes, would not regard this as a category A game.....pretty sure away end prices at AMEX don't ever reach £40, even against the champions of Europe. Clearly abusing the 'rich Southerners'

Maybe one day they'll work out the economics of maximising net intake by optimal pricing, given the sunk cost of no bums on seats...Shooting themselves in the foot....Shame really:shootself

I was a bit pissed off at the price. But couldn't get the tickets from Brighton site for some reason (think I left it to late). So just had to drive up hopefull. I wasn't expecting a performance like that, I honestly thought after the last few games would be happy with a draw. But well worth the money. Great performance. Exciting to watch. Glad I went :)

Ah........ the old "why spend £39 getting into Elland Road when you can spend £15 on a 'lady of the night' while walking back to the station via Holbeck trick"

So your four mile round trip walk was worth it then? If you live in Leeds surely you know how much they charge.

Pointless exercise.

Well done, if more people did things like this we wouldn't be known as "treasure island" where companies think they can charge what they want and people will always cough up.

Shane you missed the win but they'll be more :)

Footballing equivalent of Last Days Of The Roman Empire. One day all of this shit will fall apart, nothing surer. Clubs will collapse like a house of cards.
