Thank you that would be nice but I've never seen myself as a champagne socialist like yourself

Thanks for judging my social well being, I don't personally feel the need to judge yours, just saying it as I see it.

Are you Mr Angry today? ???

If I come across as angry then it couldn't be further from the truth. A bit hungover from last nights Christmas party and need to get showered and go to work, albeit late! Just don't understand some of the comments/posts on here is all.

Surely Mendoza must know the truth about what has happened to Gully's Girls?

Where is he when you need him?

2. You don't actually know which people will have been involved in any decision regarding them.

Hmmm ..... possibly because people aren't prepared to talk ..... reminds me of NSC Ticket Exchange !

The vouchers were £1 weren't they? First season the book of 30 were anyway. ST's went up £30 each which i guess is just over £1 (should in theory cover cup games shouldnt it but we're paying normal matchday prices for toon so guess it doesnt or we're paying twice for it - prob Barber's doing ;) ). I'm talking about match by match tickets. The £42 one - I'm not sure how much they were last yr - cant recall - but surely there's been a proce rise outside the new travel money addition...

The vouchers were £30 for home games which is £1.50 per game. I was one of the 'muggins'/honest fan who paid for mine last season. If you bought a match day ticket for the north stand in a cup game, it would be £28, so you have to compare like with like.

We're hoping to have Paul Barber on the Roar sometime in the new year to discuss them, the concept of Financial Fair Play, and a host of other things.

On all of these threads regarding Paul Barber and the club, this is possibly the first time Financial Fair Play has been mentioned. I would think that it is this that is main driving force behind the decisions being made in the club currently. There have been rumours posted on here (possibly by you!) before that even with the fabulous support at the club re Season Tickets, consumption at games etc, that we are still not complying with these rules.

It would be excellent if you can get him on the Roar, or he is asked via a fans forum etc as I am sure that once the exact situation were known amongst the supporters, perhaps some of this "anger" would dissipate.

How is that correct? How can axing the cheerleaders possibly have anything to do with Financial Fair Play? Some people just don't think before they post(ure)

This thread has morphed beyond Gully's Girls. Axing the cheerleaders does not have anything to do with FFP - the general whingefest about all things Barber does though.

I think they leave seats for gullys girls who now are available to sell at £50 a throw to Japanese football tourist:facepalm:
Also they no longer need the gg changing room and it can now be used for a regular bricabrac sale!

Does Barber have anything to do with axing the cheerleaders?

Would you think he does not have an input in big decisions? Would you suggest that maybe he is just a patsy to the clubs owner? I'd be pretty certain he has the final say in club policy, just my opinion.

Unlikely about the rumours being posted by me as I'm not entirely sure what the rules of Financial Fair Play entail, aside from the club having to get all finances in order, and this is what Paul Barber has to achieve.

However, I doubt this has anything to do with the original post of the work undertaken by the erstwhile cheerleading group Gully's Girls for REMF.

I asked this question earlier. How do we know that Gully's Girls have actually been axed? Is it because Jo has now got a job with AITC and no one else has stepped in to do her voluntary hard work, choreography, and training? Until we know the reason for the demise of the cheerleaders, then it's all guess work.

I'm not talking about cheerleaders any more. I have no idea what the score is there, as I've said before on this very thread.

But I do know that FFP is a massive consideration in all the club do right now, and rightly so.

Incorrect. Last season the book of vouchers was £30 and included cup games. I cannot remember if there was 30 in the book but it would have been around that figure, £1 per game. This season £30 is added to your season ticket, so it is now £30 / 23 games = £1.30 . Any cup games this season is included in your match ticket price, hence the rise in matchday ticket prices this season.

I absolutely agree it has gone beyond the cheerleaders. I have no preference either way towards them. However in the bigger picture it is decisions poorly made in my humble opinion. Volunteers giving up their time to entertain the crowd, maybe more so for the youngsters than us oldies, doing good work for AITC and raising funds for charity and the CEO doesn't even think to get an angle from the people that use the Amex? That smacks of arrogance to me. The paper ticket now being £10 means I can't be bothered to give my ticket to someone when I can't go now because I want a tenner myself to cover my direct debit, and twenty quid ain't really a bargain to allow someone to have an Amex experience and possibly be a future STH. Ridiculous ticket pricing for cup games, North stand STH's being ejected for standing up despite being told they can. None of this has been relayed back to the supporters. It's a guess per game basis what is going to happen next. I think it's important to know why, even if others don't. Whingeing? nah... just a little lost on club policy.
