[Finance] Footballers wealth / lifestyle - Mesut Ozil’s home

Looks a bit naff and extremely close to its neighbours.

In the very unlikely event of suddenly acquiring unimaginable wealth I would prefer something with more space as per one I spotted recently.
We were out in the countryside on the way to Nymans Gardens when we passed a beautiful "Queen Anne" style mansion (apologies to any architects who know otherwise) in the vicinity of Handcross. This one however looked as though it had just been completed rather than being around 300yrs old.

Lovely building, anyone know who lives there - the Bloom weekend retreat maybe?

Blimey. Imagine the size of his mansion if he actually possessed a pair of bollocks.

The men were targeted for their watches in a mopped mugging and fought off the attackers. Apparently eastern european gangs. You know, like the Albanians have taken over the drugs trade. The footballers fought back. The robbers didn't get their grubby hands on anything. That pissed them off and now they want revenge. Sometimes London seems lawless. Forget their wealth. They are tax payers in this country and are law abiding. They deserve any protection we can give or they can afford. Picky moaning buggers. Well some of you sound that way!

You make it sound like he lives on The Old Shoreham Rd.

'They' don't need privacy, like what 'we' do.

Peter O'Sullivan lived on the Old Shoreham Road. We nearly bought the house before him (or the club). Too noisy.

Some of the rooms in that gaff look like they could be in a posh North Korean hotel.

I have thought about your post. So I will ask, who doesn't want 200k a week?

Would you? Really?

Would you like to earn so much that you were considered a legitimate target by organised gangs who wouldn't think twice about harming your children to extract money from you, would you like to have to pay 24/7/365 security guards to guard your house, escort you when you went out, accompany your wife shopping, take your kids to school (and stay guarding the school) - all the while living in constant fear these security arrangements might be breached? I'm not sure I would.

Sure, I'd like to win a million quid on the Euromillions raffle or something like that - that would be life changing, thank you very much. But another million five weeks after that, then another five weeks later, and so on and so on? You know what, I don't think I would enjoy it that much.

Yep I would, because the other way is communism. Agreed that when you get to a certain amount it would be obscene but pay me 200k a week until I get to my target, then I will bow out of the limelight thankyou.

PS In case any one is interested, a target of 6 mill.

Anymore and I would emulate Bill Gates, a good guy.

Fair enough, your choice.

..........because the other way is communism.
Absolute bollox!

..........Agreed that when you get to a certain amount it would be obscene.
So what level of obscenity does it have to get to before you'd say not wanting any more wouldn't be communism?

..... and, FWIW, even if I 'only' won a million quid, I still wouldn't want to advertise it!

Me neither, communism is restricting what you can earn. Earn it big fast and get out is my mantra. Is that wrong?

.......................
Edit: If you could read you would see 6million.......................:wave:

I'll say again, whatever you earn.

Communism is somebody else ('someone else' as in the state, not as in a rapacious skinflint capitalist employer) restricting what you earn, shirley? Deciding for yourself 'enough is enough' is not.

"Earn it big fast" is, frankly, a bit of a tall order for an OAP. Win it with a bit of lottery luck ................ that'll do!

Who's an OAP? (Sacrc) I am sure you're not, well, maybe but, you do not come across as one, so you are young yet on social media!

Bona fide OAP I'm afraid. Old enough and wise enough to vote Brexit (I voted 'no' in 1975 too!)

OK, maybe I'd settle for £6M like your target too - but I'd keep even more bloody quiet about it if I did!
