Until recently, David James was reported to be on 30 a day. He was even allowed to smoke on the Liverpool team coach because one of the directors smoked on there. Allegedly, he said that he was always last in any race and always struggled at training !!!

I heard he smokes some heavy duty Bulgarian weed on the morning of every game, that's why he's so composed on the ball.

I heard it was Bulgarian medicinals.

while I lived in Shrewsbury I would go and watch them play and had some chats with their centre forward Alfie Woods who incidentally went on to play for Millwall and he smoked about 10 while we had those chats then went on to play out of his skin
god only knows how he did it
