I generally do a couple of these each year, tend to go e/w, top 4 in Prem, promotion in the other leagues. The real trick is to pick 3 nailed on certs, and a longer odds team that will do it, then you can increase your money a lot.

Maybe promotion is a better option that winning the league, going to have a re-nag.

MK Dons? I really hope not... Can't see the League One trophy ending up anywhere outside of Yorkshire next season to be honest.

Will probably go for
Man Utd
Forest
Huddersfield
TBC - Can't see beyond Crawley, but the odds are far too short. Bristol Rovers possibly...?

I got a free £20 bet so I've done:

Man Utd 7/4
Leicester 6/1
Hudds 5/1
Crawley 3/1

I did it £10 e/w with ladbrokes. Can anyone tell me how much i'd get if it came in each way? Am i right in saying if I got 3 winners and 1 2nd it would pay the same odds as if they all came 2nd or even 3rd...?

It's 1/3 odds for top 2 in the prem
1/4 odds for top 3 in the others...

If it's just an accumulator (which looking at it, it is) then yes, 3 wins + 1 second = 4 second places. If you do some fancy e/w combination bet (yankee, or just triples, or whatever) then you'd benefit from 1 or more winning.

Cheers Dan - Yes I looked at yankee etc but thought as it was a free bet i'd just go for it - if all 4 did win i'd get just under 5k :) Any idea if it did come in each way (whatever combination) how much it would be? If it's 1/4 of the odds would it just be a simple case of dividing the whole bet by 4 and hence £1k or am i getting that well wrong?

I'm afraid not. For four in the accumulator, you'd need to divide each of the odds by 4 - looking at the odds above...

Man Utd: 7/4 -> 7/16
Leicester: 6/1 -> 3/2
Huddersfield: 5/1 -> 5/4
Crawley 3/1 -> 3/4

Which by my maths works out as £141.50 - not a fortune, but better than a punch in the face.

I don't think Man Utd will win the league again, history is against them winning it.

I'll be pumping for

Arsenal (Losing Fabregas would be a blessing in disguise)
Nottingham Forest (I do it annually, it'll come in eventually)
Huddersfield
Crawley/Swindon (Too close to call, I'll perm it).

I'll be doing a single on Port Vale each-way aswell, and Darlington in the Blue Square.

Crawley should blitz that league: Stevenage went up last year having spent absolutely chuff all, so Sussex's minor club should have no problems whatsoever with the money they've got.

Quick question, as usually i just bet in straight forward bets. If i were to do an each way bet on:
Chelsea
West Ham
Huddersfield
Bristol Rovers
How do the placings work in most bookies? Is it simply the top 2/3/4?

Apologies if it seems a stupid question.

I'm definitely gonna do one of these bets but I'll be doing one a couple of days before the season starts, then we'll know a lot more about the teams we're betting on. The advantage of doing it now though is that you get much better odds.

If pushed to bet today I'd do Leicester, Huddersfield & Crawley.
