It was 4, 3 players took their 4 and one man Curbishley for us.

Sorry - I see he was answering your question - I thought he was correcting you, and suggesting there were only 4 penalties.

Mark Bright (scored one, missed one)
Ian Wright (missed)
Curbs (scored)
John Pemberton (missed)

I was at the game and at the time I was baffled why they kept changing penalty taker and even now doesn't make much sense. You either back yourself or you don't.

I was asked at a pub quiz last night. Which two Brighton managers were involved in the 1975 Cup Final?
Once answered please ask another question as it will be a long summer.

1975 started a run of nine consecutive cup finals where at least one of the players involved was a future manager of Brighton:

1975: Mullery & Lloyd,
1976: Coppell,
1977: Case and Coppell,
1978: Brady,
1979: Brady & Coppell,
1980: Brady,
1981: Hughton,
1982: Hughton,
1983: Case (+ Ryan, assistant)

1984 stops the run, and that's probably for the best. (Unless anyone wants Kenny Jackett, Peter Reid or John Barnes as a future manager.)

Sirnormangall was right I believe. Seem to recall that the only reason that Callaghan was brought back into the team, was that we played virtually the whole Liverpool team against Luxembourg about 40 years ago

Oh well, it was the side burns of that era that drew me in

Love that stato.

Case was a Liverpool player when they won the 74 final v Newcastle, although not directly involved in the final I believe he did travel to Wembley.
