New game seems a little too easy so far. Played 3 games, beat Leeds 6-0(!), Plymouth 3-1 and Derby 3-1. Re-signed Vicente only for him to get injured before kicking a ball (v. realistic). Got Carlton Cole on a free as backup to Ulloa. Lualua and Andrews have been my best players so far.

had vicente on trial - got injured in his first friendly, out for 5 months - terminated

brought in lee barnard and carles planas
sold brez and barnes to wigan for 1.7m
bridcutt wants to leave, handed in a transfer request but i dont have anybody to replace him and theres no quality in the market, so forcing him to play atm

drew 1st match against leeds 3-3

Don't you have Ince to cover Bridcutt?

Still FM10 for me and only in season 2017 but am pushing hard to get promotion to Serie A with little old Atessa Val Di Sangro. With little time to play I can't be spending time on all this complicated stuff in the newer versions

I'm still on 2010. God knows how many seasons now, but have several FA Cups, a couple of European Cups and 2 successive titles under the belt for Albion. Thought I'd jack it in if I can manage a treble one season but sounds like things have moved on a lot. Very tempted.

Currently January 2014 and im 2nd in the league to QPR.

Transfer budget was 700k (used to make my wage budget bigger). Signed Craig Conway (as you dont get him with Brighton), Connor Wickham and Gabriel Tamas on loan. Also signed Carlton Cole on a free and Ash Taylor for a bargain 500k (now worth £1.8 Million).

Sold Buckley to Celtic for £3.5 Million, Bridcutt (who wasnt playing much as i dont play with a DM and other CM's were better) to Fulham for £4.5 Million and Bruno to Mr Poyet for 500k.

I'm torn as I really don't want to leave my FM13 Exeter side, in 2021 with them (or thereabouts), have 2 Europa League cups, 2 Super Cups and an FA Cup.

That said, I want to start FM14 with Macclesfield as soon as I can! (I feel I have to earn the Albion job for myself).

ees complicated no?

Although I'm looking forward to playing this, it seems a waste of time the amount of effort I've put into getting Dover where they are now, season 2031 / 2032 and they're the only team I've managed, oh well time for FM14 to take over my life I guess.

I deleted my FM12 last night after the Albion's 7th straight Champions League win. Brighton midfielder James Ward Prowse called time on a career that saw him win over 50 major trophies, 150 England caps, with his last game being as the winning captain in a World Cup Final.

I love FM.

Anyone got any good tips to share? Mine is make a note of the youth generation dates for all nations and try and sign up the promising ones before they are offered contracts. The money you save on fees means you can offer them higher wages to ensure they come to you.

you can now get your head of youth development or director of football to do that for you if you want - but it produces mixed results

i like the idea of 'earning' the brighton job - kind of makes me want to start with whitehawk - but i also want to play with the current squad!

will probably just do both

Think I'm going to keep going with my FM2013 journeyman career at the moment, started off at Morecambe, then moved to some lower leage Spanish team and got them promoted to Adelante, then moved to St Pauli who were languishing in the 3rd Division despite having a great team and stabilised them in the German 1st Division, then moved to Norwish and in the third season doing unexpectedly well in the league and in to the knock outs of the Europa. Very much focussing on youth, want to try doing the Mourinho challenge and win the champion league with three teams.

Does anyone know if the instant result skin works with 2014 on normal mode?

It's a challenge if you start at the bottom with 'Sunday League' experience selected, only problem with it is that it's possible to get far enough with a club that the Albion job would be a step down!

Fot example, with my Exeter save as it is (started at Macclesfield), Brighton wouldn't be able to afford the compensation to get me!

I'm waiting for the demo, and possibly for the full version to be patched. I was so disappointed by FM13, not going to get stung again. Also my FM12 save is now in 2026 and the mighty Albion are 7x consecutive Premier League winners and 3x Champions League winners. Did the quadruple last season with both domestic cups too. Thought it'd get boring when it gets too easy, but I've fallen in love with my regen squad a bit too much to let them go. Worrying really.

I know exactly what you mean. I've got these two blinding wingers, Antonio Barbosa and Jiri Kovar, and I've nurtured them from 16 years old at no value to being two of the worlds best players at £40m each. Got a £65m offer from Barcelona for Barbosa which I turned down. The fans loved me for it.
