I have had a Playstation, Playstation 2 and now Playstation 3 but have never played a football game on it, how easy are they to play?

don't bother, only worth while if you have a laptop or pc in my opinion, console SIM games are bulky and slow.

If you're talking about management games like FM, then the post above is spot on: no point on consoles (although the Android and iOS version of FM is good, and also getting a new release by Christmas). Games like Fifa and Pro Evo on consoles are great, but can be a bit daunting if you're a total newcomer: give the demos of each a try, and don't be too proud to play on easy at first.

This is what I thought, I play shooter games on PC and have struggled to enjoy them as much on the console, wondered if it was the same with these types of games. Thanks

The big news (so far) is that the game will feature a "classic mode" for those who miss being able to bash through a season in an evening (then inevitably a couple more when you should be sleeping).

THAT actually could pull me back in. Don't have time for all the tactics etc. More excited about FIFA.

Hopefully the iphone version will have updated player stats as it doesn't need much else.

You only get half capability to the pc version on iPad etc which is nice as you can only manage formations and not provide instructions

Here is the easy way, download a transfer update around NOW for the new season on FM12, and buy FM13 when the Jan update is out around March, and boom you get FM13 at half the original price.

You can set player instruction on the iOS version if you want to: when you're setting your formation in the tactics screen, look for the button which looks like a sheaf of papers, and you can set "Player Tactical Roles" there. For example, I often set my wingers as inside-forwards. You can ignore that all quite safely though.

There are quite a few transfer updates, probably the best-regarded is the "WeeGiE" one- although the new version's not out til Friday 7 September. Personally I'm waiting for that one, but there are others on sortitoutsi.net. Here's the page for the WeeGiE update if you want it though, instructions are there too. When it's updated the new version will be there, so don't download that version, just bookmark the page or whatever. It should have Bruno, Bridge, Lopez etc. at the Albion when its released.

It's due today, but it hasn't appeared yet, so perhaps there's been a delay. Either that, or it'll still be out this evening (although that's looking less likely as the hours tick by). I'm keeping an eye out for it myself so I'll post when it appears, but if others are as desperate for it as I am, you can keep hitting F5 on that page I linked to earlier or on FM WeeGiE Update.

Edit: just realised the update that came out on 25 August was a few days late, it was meant to be released earlier than that: which suggests this might have been delayed too.

I would like to see better scouting options. I'm just about to leave the German third division so want to scout players that will be good enough to sustain me in the second or get me promoted. My scouts are returning third division quality, which isn't good enough. I doubt this will be changed though.
