Well done Bruno. Deserved for a great season. Annoying that Barton gets in given his behaviour against us (and the fact that Kayal and Clayton are better).

Bruno is probably the most skilful player in the football league . To have Barton anywhere near this award is a joke. He isn't worthy of cleaning Bruno's boots. If Goldson had played a full season I think he would be in as well.

It's really difficult to pick out players from all three divisions - inevitably spaces will have to be set aside for players from the lower divisions to get a look in. Perhaps three teams, one from each division, would be a much better idea.

Joke that Barton gets in though - however good he might be, he is never going to be a good advert for football.

Beram Kayal is the best all round footballer in England outside the Prem.

I'm sure they used to do a team of the year for each division. Agree it is weird to have all three divisions in one team.

So biased.

Alan judge has about 15 goals and 15 assists for an average team.

Well obviously I can go on what I see. And I see a player who looks classier than half the Premiership - week in, week out.

So how do you work out he's better than everyone else in the championship? Alan judge almost plays an identical position.

In future please read all of my posts as having the prefix "in my opinion".

Barton pratts around against us - which is one game out of 46 this season - and on that basis people decide he is crap. Got to love Brighton fans some times

I don't think he is crap.

Having seen him at both Turf Moor and the Amex he came off second best on both occasions to Kayal.

Also at Turf Moor he was skinned by Solly March for our goal.

He is a decent player at this level, and being high profile for his past has more attention than those he competes against.

Tom Barclay in Sunsport has Bruno and Kayal in his Championship team of the season, with Chris Hughton as manager.Almost apologetic in writing us off as mid-table,at best!

Obviously stats aren't conclusive but Barton doesn't top a single one of these categories in comparison to Kayal and Clayton:

Barton: 34 apps, 2 goals, 2 assists.

Kayal: 39 apps, 2 goals, 6 assists.

Clayton: 39 apps, 1 goal, 1 assist.

Tackles per game:

Barton 2.8
Kayal 3.2
Clayton 2.6

Pass Success Rate:

Barton 74.5%
Kayal 81.9%
Clayton 86.6%

Interceptions per game:

Barton 2.3
Kayal 1.6
Clayton 2.9

Key Passes per game:

Barton 0.7
Kayal 1.1
Clayton 0.7

Shots per game:

Barton 1.1
Kayal 1.6
Clayton 0.7

Dribbles per game:

Barton 0.3
Kayal 1
Clayton 0.4

From whoscored.com.

I don't think Barton is 'crap' as such, just that he hasn't been as good as Kayal or Clayton this season and has got into the team of the season simply because he is Joey Barton.
