Football club bans burgers

But clubs don't sell veggie burgers - that's the point. Where at Withdean can you find such a thing? I don't agree with the FG chairman's stance, I think it's best to provide a choice but I don't see the difference between this guy only offering veggie and Brighton only offering meat.

It's not the fact that he's offering Veggie burgers it's the fact that he'd BANNED meat ! Think you might have misunderstood. As I said earlier I would have to be very, very desparate to buy a burger especially at a football stadium but that's my choice if I do. There's nothing at all wrong with offering a choice of meat or veggie but it's a bit much to just force the issue not offering a choice. Admittedly I doubt that such a decision would stop anybody going to a game but my thinking is that it could have an adverse effect on income.

I haven't misunderstood at all. I said that I don't see the difference between this and what's on offer at 90% of league grounds, where there's no choice at all. In fact, as Keaton points out, there's more choice at FG than there is at Withdean.

The fact that you can't get a veggie burger at a lot of grounds isn't an argument for this being a good idea though. I'd agree that there should be the option of veggie burgers for those that want them just as much as I'd disagree that supporters who want should be forced to eat a certain way or go hungry.

It would be a bit hypocritical for a vegan to make money selling meat. If it's his club, it's really up to him. And if someone wants to set up a burger stall just off the club's property, that's up to them.
