Bringing this back on topic, don't buy footy boots with blades - get proper moulded boots or studs. A lot of managers in the league are stopping their players from wearing blades because they get caught on the ground and cause injuries.

I knackered my hamstring, knee and calf when my blades got stuck in the turf and jarred my leg.

Blades might be tendy but there is no point having flash boots if you can't wear them because you're injured.

i don't think they would be the most popular boot in england if they were prone to causing injury, i have never heard of anyone getting injured as a result of wearing blades, they are if anything safer than a 3/4 inch stud, not to mention the advantages they offer to your game!

Ps - I'll retract the "fucktard" comment.

I'm not a sports person, but I do believe SELF BELIEF is very important, so long as it doesn't become delusional...
So good luck to you.

Popular in the leisure market but less so with pro's these days. Most famous manager against blades is a certain red faced scotsman based in Manchester http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/4277722.stm . That's causing injury to others but there are numerous other cases about causing injury either to the player wearing the boots or to an opponent - try some of these links:

http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/viewarticle.aspx?id=318565&imageindex=1 or http://www.rfu.com/forum/attachments/Blades_Summary5.doc or http://www.stockportexpress.co.uk/s...5/205312_blades_given_the_boot_by_county.html or http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/reports/consumer_goods/consumer_20050913_2.shtml

You might still want to be a fashion victim/show pony - just remeber that if you do pick up a serious injury you were warned!!!

so that is one example that may or may not have had anything to do with the blades, it could have been the pitch, pressure from another player or even a mistake with his own footing.

the fact the injury was only to the tune of two months is not a serious injury in my opinion, obviously it depends what affect it has on your future and your bodily functions, but two months is not the worst i would have had,

so although i accept that i have been "warned" i am willing to take the so called risk, as i do not feel there is enough evidence to suggest to me to buy otherwise, they are the most comfortable grip!

Read the rest of the links rather than just the Man U story. This internet thing you are using is full of medical journals with reports on this sort of thing.

Then again, looking at the rest of this thread maybe you should stick with your show pony boots as looks seem more important to you than anything else. Talented footballer - maybe you are, however you definitely come across as a twat.

I just bought some very-nearly new Diadora boots in my size from a boot-sale for £3. Nice and light, but with adequate sole stiffness and protection. The studs look a bit long and thin though, so might have to get a reserve set and screw them in for when the turf is harder.

Can't beat the price, and it's obvious that they've never been used for a game. :clap2: :drink:
