My son supports Watford (having been born there, but lived in Sussex since age 1) so I follow their (mis)fortunes and we occasionally go to a match, but now he's an Amex STH he's wavering somewhat...
Don’t agree with second team but I can definitely see how neutrals might see us as the underdogs and “get behind” us in that regard. A bit like how so many wanted to see Leicester win the league.
I tend to look at results of teams I currently manage on Football Manager. Over the years I have "followed"
Penrhycoch in Wales, Tubize in Belgium and Welling United.
To even it up I do follow the Albions results in Football manager
I can see why fans from EPL clubs would warm towards a club like Brighton just now. We have gone from being the worst run club in the country to possibly the best, we're playing a brand of football that everyone seems to find enjoyable to watch, and the supporters haven't got (in the main) smug and big-time in the process. There's a certain humility that fans have retained.
The only thing that spoils it is sanctimonious posts like this one ...
