I met him once. I remember my Mum & Dad not believing me at the time, which was a little annoying - I must have been about 10.
For some reason I was at the Goldstone on the East Terrace (Chicken Run) on my own.
I normally went with a group of school friends which including a current Director at the Albion, Derek Chapman.
I remember the crowd wasn't that big that afternoon and he came up and started talking to me. I was a big fan of his at the time, seeing his films at the local cinema, 'The Gaiety', in Lewes Road.
I was amazed at how 'normal' he was. He spent quite some time with me leading up to Half Time. At the break he bought me a bag of peanuts !! Brilliant bloke.

Wisdom famously re-wrote the lyrics to Brighton and Hove Albion's anthem, Sussex by the Sea, and was regularly on the pitch at The Goldstone Ground singing it and whipping the crowd into a frezy before kick off.
