Not wishing to be picky - well, actually I am - that's my point. You say it was REASONABLE quality, and there we are singing its praises.

Wouldn't it be nice to have GOOD or HIGH quality?

I thought long and hard about that word. But then realised I was a wee bit pissed up last time I was in Norwich so might not have been the best judge. But I do recall pasties being baked in front of my eyes and served piping hot and fresh as you, or I, like.

'Reasonable' may be doing them a dis-service.

The burgers are f***ing made from shit, as long as I remember Rennie to have after my burger I will be ok, and live with the fact I will have the shits the next day, get me one. I think its the smell of the rancid fat after a few pints.

Norwich's food is excellent - because they use Delia's trainee chefs apparently!! I remember their Christmas pie with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce in, was delicious!!!

Fair play, Laura - and with Norwich being seen as a good place for real ales, it can't bee all 'yo, give me six' up there.

But one club in 92 that we can say this about? It's pathetic and insulting in equal measures.

The only footy ground I have eaten anything at was Kidderminster, went there on the first of January this year so it was pretty recently. All I had was the Aggborough soup, served in a really large polystyrene cup, for the princely sum of £1.50...it was packed full of meat and veg and was a meal on its own. The food at the ground is reputed to be amongst the best available, probably not on the same level as Norwich but it is basic, wholesome and excellent value...all prepared fresh at the ground and not just heated up or deep fried direct from the freezer bag. (they also had shepherds pie and various different dishes from the wok)

I really hope that the Albion get it right with the food at Falmer, if I travel all the way from home to a game I will want to eat something before the game, I am a fussy bugger with food...if it looks shit it will probably taste shit and there is no way I am going to spend my hard earned sheckels on it.

MP, please go to Norwich and Kidderminster to experience football food done properly, this is what we want at Falmer.

I've been to Kiddy for a game or two but never eaten there. You're painting a good picture though and it's the way it should be.

I've never eaten at Norwich but I would imagine the main advantage there is that Delia actually takes some responsibilty for what is dished up.

At most grounds it is about putting the supply of food out to tender and the company that wins is the one that is willing to pay the most money. In order for them to make a profit they have to sell poor quality low cost food at inflated prices. Unfortunately the clubs couldn't give a toss.

Just forgetting the quality of the food for one moment, It is the prices that amaze me, recently i have had the good fortune to go to Wembley and even more recently the Millenium Stadium, and for a basic Hot Dog (no watered down onions even) which you can just pour some sauce or mustard over £4.00 each I agree with others dont buy the crap.

The likes of Wembley and the Emirites, do a deal, a Pie and a Pint £6.50, the pie is very small and the pint (always a crap basic Lager / beer) is very much pre poured, god knows how long ago

I admit i use the drinking facilitys at grounds, but i refuse to pay silly money for stuff you could probably get out of a dustbin for nothing

Had some very tasty cottage pie at Kidderminster when we played there a few years back. The woman serving gave our son a an extra portion free because she thought 'he needs feeding up' - hmmm; 6th form hangover I seem to remember.

That is precisely the point Alex, I had been told how good the food was at the ground before I went there and decided that I would try it for myself, I would do the same at Norwich. I am not sure if the respective clubs control the food outlets in their ground but I am pretty sure they have a considerable influence in what is served up, with regards menu, quality and price.

I don't mind paying good money for good food, especially where you can see it being prepared in the kitchen behind the servery. This is something that can really bring more money into the club if it is done properly, I am assuming that the corporate side of matters will be excellent at Falmer, good food for the rest of us has to be a priority too. Regardless of what we are served up on the pitch we should be able to get our fill off it.

The food was certainly better than reasonable, it was very good. Bozza, you must have drunk so much you had gone deaf in the tongue.

Dunno why people actually NEED to eat or drink at matches.

Have lunch before you go and dinner when you get home. The most I ever have at Withdean is a bovril on a cold day.

Away matches are a different matter but generally I take a packed lunch but will occasionally have something.
Rushden & Diamonds had a great burger as I recall.

I agree, that is a good plan, doesn't always go to plan though.

The problem with the burgers is the fake "bread" they make their baps out of.
The crappy things disintegrate two yards from the counter and it's only the serviette that stops everything sliding on to the floor.
The baguettes are better and I think it's simply down to the quality of the bread.

£1.50 for a watery powdered Bovril is a crime...and spend ten minutes stirring if you buy a hot chocolate.

we like to refer to it as a dirt burger. Its like alchol free lager, you know you shouldnt but it tastes the same once your 5 pints down.

If you go to plymouth and ask for a 'meat pastie' dont be suprised if you get a 'potato potato' pastie. Still did the job and not a ginsters in sight:thud:
