Henfield to Hastings - 49 miles each way, which some how takes about 90 mins.

490 miles a week

I am fortunate that I have a mere eight miles top travel to work. I can park for free and I would say that it's probably cheaper to drive than use public transport. I start at seven which suits me fine as I don't hit much traffic coming or going.

At eight miles it would be even cheaper to cycle. That's about the distance I had to get to work when I lived in London and it was a nice bike ride across the city.

Down two lots of stairs, my office is in the basement of my house. I got totally hacked off with commuting and made a conscious decision to develop my work accordingly.

Oh yes, get to work all hot and sweaty, cold in the winter and ride a bike in the dark ? No thanks.

About 12 miles each way; the first 3 by a lift in the car to the station, the rest by train and foot.

The evening return is either by bus or train to wherever Roz can be found, to give me the lift home.

On the first and third Thursdays of each month, there is a bus that stops immediately outside Bracknell Towers and takes me all the way to my workplace. That feels like complete decadence.

Vauxhall to St James's St, about 2.5 miles. 35 minute walk or 6 mins on the underground.
