Apple won't bring one out until they can make a folding screen that doesn't break after a few months. Price-wise it will be eye-watering (my last few phones have cost more than my first couple of cars)I really see no point at all in a folding phone. Novelty piffle.
Until September 2026, when Apple is rumoured to be bringing out one, and at that point, I'll clearly be in.
Essentially that will be the start of the foldable phone era, despite some naysayers saying things like "Android has had foldable phones for a gazillion years now".
Can we get our money back on FHThe 2015 consumer rights act says that goods should be fit for purpose and of suitable quality. A manufacturers warranty can give more cover/service but it cannot override it.
I had an argument with Currys over a Samsung tellybox that developed a fault after 15 months and they trier to wriggle out of it, claiming it was out of warranty; took the threat of court action (nowhere near as difficult as people think and no need for a solicitor) to get them to repair it.
What is the actual story regarding the Omsung Phine? I have seen it quoted many times, but don’t actually know the tale. This thread evokes memories of Ben’s Grandad and his Omsung phine (sic).
My recollection is BG asked for some technical help with his Samsung phone, but his post was written using the words ‘Omsung phine’ for reasons unknown. Not particularly funny, but straight into the NSC lexicon. What is the actual story regarding the Omsung Phine? I have seen it quoted many times, but don’t actually know the tale.
Make one for under a grand and I would think about it.

Early new year's resolution but I am desperately trying to reduce the phone time. I now leave it upstairs in an evening so there's no temptation to look at it. Make a real point of not being on it at breakfast time/time with the kids. The last 2 days, being together and purely getting the phone out to take a photo and then put away again has been glorious. My two are too young at the moment (7 and 3) but we watched that Matt/Emma Willis programme about the school kids going 3 weeks without their mobiles. That alone makes you feel GROSS about what we've done to ourselves with phones.
I have a pixel and it's fantastic for what I need. Phone, message, take a photo of something and it tells me what it is (probably my most used feature) and a lovely camera for the family stuff. I don't want any other novelty to tempt me into sitting there for hours melting my brain.
Anyway, merry Christmas
This… just isn’t true.Anything is better than an iPhone. End of.
I don't get how you could go from the freedom and versatility of an Android to an iPhone. After 10+ years of defiantly railing against iPhones (Hah! Why spend a thousand quid on a phone when I rarely make phone calls?), this year I finally got fed up with Android and bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max. What a beaut. I’m already invested in Apple with an iPad and MacBook, and I can’t get over the pleasure of the iPhone. So nuts to Pixels and clam phones. iPhones all the way from now on.

If I’m misremembering, someone will correct me.
It did directly result in possibly the finest and most genius post EVER on NSC when @Tom Hark Preston Park referenced Laurel & Hardy and The Trail of the Omsung PhineMy recollection is BG asked for some technical help with his Samsung phone, but his post was written using the words ‘Omsung phine’ for reasons unknown. I’m also an iPhone user…..because I’m worth it.Unfortunately, I’m an iPhone user.
I’ve tried cheating on it with cheaper models, but aside from the odd thrill here and there, I always go home to my favourite.
