Perhaps the prevalence of pedantry may be largely accounted for by the common error of thinking that, because useful knowledge should be remembered, any kind of knowledge that is at all worth learning should be remembered too - Albert J. Nock

MORNING FORECAST ISSUED TUESDAY 24TH JANUARY 2017: Early low cloud, mist and fog is expected to gradually break to leave a dry day with sunny spells this afternoon.

Mainly dry tonight with clear periods for a time, but low cloud, mist and some fog is expected to form during the early hours with the small chance of a little drizzle.

The forecast conditions aren't quite as 'safe' as they looked yesterday. There will be fog in places tonight. We have to hope that Falmer and particularly the stadium site aren't prone to advection fog.

Well I've learned something today already :lolol:
For those less meteorologically inclined than Papa:

Advection Fog: Forms when quite warm, moist and stable air is blown across a cooler surface (land or water). The air temperature falls until the dew point is reached and condensation occurs.

Driving through Worthing and eastwards to the A23 going north was crystal clear.

However, PEA SOUP on reaching the level of Burgess Hill.

Let's hope the fog doesn't sweep south.

Just driven past the stadium and it's lovely and clear at the moment, best it's been for a week. Hopefully it'll last.

Good work Notters. Just remember - always be careful what you wish before.
