Seeing as the Argus is pushing the Falmer stadium bigtime today, can someone make sure that they get tipped off about this flower plan. If it gets a mention in the later additions of the paper along with the planned date and address to be sent to, then maybe a few more bunches might find there way to London. Not every Brighton fan has access to the internet so the Argus / local radio will be the easiest way to spread the word.

Has the press been tipped off about this? Not much point if no one sees it? It has got to be national news as well!

I was just wondering the same thing. It would be nice if all the exiled fans could get to see it on the BBC or Sky News. We get to see or hear little enough about them on television as it is

Is there any chance of someone running off a bunch of leaflets to hand out at Wycombe (or in Brighton) for the benefit of those who don't read NSC? Or post it on here for people to print off.

They just need to explain the deal, why we're doing it and what we hope to achieve.

Something along the lines of

Say It With Flowers.....We Want Falmer!
You may have noticed the furore regarding the Planning Inspector's recommendation this week that Falmer is unsuitable for a football stadium. As Albion fans, it's our job to make sure John Prescott gets the message (if he hasn't already) that Falmer is not just the best option, it's the ONLY option, and without it, our club will die.

So we're Saying It With Flowers next Monday, 9th February. We're asking Albion fans, and those of every other club in the country, to send John Prescott a bunch of flowers to remind him how important this issue is.

Why flowers?
We've all written our letters and e-mails, this is simply a more visible way of getting our message across, and hopefully one which will attract local and national publicity as hundreds of bunches of flowers turn up at Prescott's office. It's harmless, and the flowers will end up being donated to hospitals and old people's homes around London, so it's all in a good cause in the end.

What do I need to do?
You can either join in with the Falmer For All campaign

(can someone insert details here when they're finalised?)

or arrange your own bouquet via Interflora or similar, to arrive on MONDAY 9TH FEBRUARY. The address for delivery is

Mr John Prescott,
The Cabinet Office 70,
Whitehall,
London,
SW1A 2AS

If you live in London, why not buy a bunch in a supermarket or a garage, and hand deliver them yourself?

Feel free to include a message of your choice (but please, please keep it both polite and positive), and be sure to state that you're an Albion fan.

The more fans join in, the greater the impact will be. Let's swamp Whitehall with floral tributes, and Brighton up Mr Prescott's day.

We Want Falmer!

Just receieved a phone call from Paul Samrah.

He is emailing every football league club's secretary to say that a prepaid bunch of flowers will be delivered to John Prescott on behalf of that particular club. All that secretary has to do is phone the florist on a given number, and dictate that club's personal message to be put on the card. The flowers will then be delivered.

The flowers have already been paid for. However, this is going to cost a fair few quid, and Paul is paying for it out of his own pocket.

The 40 Notes Fund is donating some money, and if anyone is coming to the quiz tonight, he respectfully asks that a donation be made towards the costs of the flowers.

Well if everyone who's posted on this thread so far sends a bunch, that's over 40 bouquets headed JP's way on Monday morning.

Not to mention the 92 from every league club, we're heading for 150 bunches so far. Should make Whitehall very colourful come Monday lunchtime.

Keep it going though, plenty more are required to make the necessary impact.

Are the Albion sending a bunch, or would that be construed as attempting to influence the decision?

Can anyone take time off work to hand-deliver flowers? Or would this be a waste of time? I'm thinking of going up there on Monday....

I am in at work on Monday so I will be doing so by hand - there is a florists outside Embankment tube that is five minutes walk from prescotts front door

Southern FM were quite vocal on their news this morning about our letter writing campaign.

I'm sure Operation Daffodil will appeal to them if someone knows how to contact them. Richard Lindfield who reads the news sometimes is a fan.

Maybe they'd give out the details to enable others to join in if they wanted.

How do we get it on the local radio news?

That would reach the thousands of non-NSC Albion fans.
