For anyone that remembers them. Played some fantastic gigs in Brighton in the early 90s.

For me it was THE acid house/baggy anthem bar none, nothing else comes close to it

Weekender was brilliant, even now it sounds great.

They played in a tent in Wild Park at the height of their powers, headlining over the likes of Thousand Yard Stare and Spitfire as I recall.
Liam came on stage with a couple of seriously vicious looking rottweilers on chain leads. This was when there'd been a media frenzy over the "dangerous" dogs. It was an awesome sight.
The band's road crew were squaring up with the security in the gap between the mosh pit & the stage.
Some Scoomers were picking on the students. Fist fights were breaking out all over the place. People were climbing up the poles holding the tent up, fuelled by ecstacy & alcohol & cheered on by the crowd. I sat on the railings to the left of the stage, everywhere I looked something was happening, all to this brilliant soundtrack from the stage.
It was the most exciting gig I've ever been to.

I was at this gig, absolutely mental, think it was one of the Essential festivals? They played the Event in '91 I think, all completely off their nuts, Barry Mooncult dancing round with a flower round his head. They lost it to smack really early on. Weekender is such a great song, Andy Weatherall on top form. The film with Lee Whitlock is a lost classic.

Remember seeing them at the first Madness "Madstock" reunion gig in Finsbury Park August 8, 1992.

Very sad news, Liam was a top bloke. I did there security on a few shows, great lads. Those rotweilers used to be tethered to there tour van all night when it was parked outside there flats in euston

Yeah a very edgy evening, not very peace and love! Very good entertaining night though.

Barry Mooncult was a case by all accounts, when Tubby posted it I was sure it must have been him.

Thanks for that Tubby, a good night and one I had forgotten. What a shame.
