I should imagine that it will be quite some time before he features, if at all.

Also there is some blind hope here.He scored three times in 26 appearances during the 2018/19 season.

I know we are looking for the silver bullet. But it won't be here.

FFS!

yet again this 4 in 26 shit rocks up.
(3 in 23 in 18/19)

How many more times!

9 starts
944 minutes (total)
20 shots (9 on target)
4 goals

1 goal every 5 shots is excellent in the premier league (Maupay is 1 in 9)

Apologies. I'm taken.

I'll take anything right now.

Although I'm not sure we will see him this season.

Yeah same.

No guarantees he's any better than Maupay, but his record is better than many think.
He was kept out of the squad by Murray. He walks (if he can) into this one at the moment.

Is it really as many as 1 in 9 for Maupay?!

Despite creating about 60 attempts on goal over the last 3 or 4 games, I think Maupay has only had 5 or 6 of them.

It’s not like he’s missing a hatful of good chances, he’s managing to avoid even having them.

No, it’s actually 1 in 8...

Stats should never be taken in isolation, you clearly have to look at the bigger picture - if you didn’t then Kevin De Bruyne would never get a game for City, with his 1 goal in every 27 shots ration (3 in 73).

The darling of many here, who believe we raided Brentford for the wrong striker, Ollie Watkins, doesn’t fair much better than Maupay, with a goal per 7 shots.

17 in 153 premier league shots.
Exactly 1 in 9

Kevin De Bruyne is a midfielder, a record assist maker, and in no way related to this debate.

Excluding penalties this season Ollie Watkins has scored a goal every 8.11 shots.

This season Maupay has scored every 13.25, excluding penalties.

Last season it was every 10 shots, excluding penalties.

The bigger picture reveals Watkins is better at scoring goals.

I think you've got Welbeck's pace way off the mark. He's one of our quickest players. Lamptey is quicker, but doubt anyone else is. Not entirely convinced Tross is as quick as you say.

the little legged players look fast because there legs move faster. like a Dachshund looks fast doing 2.5 mph.

Ben White is normal height and can move reasonably efficiently.

We've clearly got different sources for our data!

De Bruyne is relevant as the stat previously quoted regarding Maupay/And one was about goals per shots - I was simply pointing out that stats don't tell the whole story.

He did assist to close to 20 of those attempts though, but I know I'm mainly speaking for deaf ears - apparently Brighton is different to every other club in the sense that midfielders and wingers are not expected to score any goals so setting them up counts for nothing.
