Porky the incontinent wonder dog died recently and we now have a problem with fleas. Can anyone on NSC recommend a firm that can destroy the little *******s? We have a BN1 postcode.

Environmental health dept at council is good place to start. Should (things may have changed) be an unmarked van to avoid awkward conversations with the neighbours.

Put powder down. Scratch for a couple of weeks. Wait. Gone.

We had the same problem when we moved into our house and the carrier in question had left. Pesky buggers, but the powder does kill them.

In the meantime, Put few bowls of water down in several places then squirt washing up liquid in the bowl. The fleas will jump in but won't be able to jump back out, it will also help scale how effective treatment you pay for is working

You can get some decent "Flea Bombs" these days, set one off in each room with the doors closed and head to the pub for a few hours.

May take a couple of rounds to get rid of the buggers unfortunately and they're not that cheap :(
