Harper's Island is a very good call. That is currently giving me sleeping problems on a Sunday night

I'm annoyed that BBC are putting it on the same time as the second series of Spiral which was another really good, gory serial killer thing

With the American shows, it's all a lottery. The channels usually buy them up before they've seen the light of day in the USA, so nobody can be sure whether they've got a hit on their hands. Top work by Five for snapping up one that's become huge Stateside. '30 Rock' was another show they landed that was an inspired choice.

Of course, if FlashForward really takes off here too, Sky will price everyone out of the market next time, like they did with C4 and Lost.

I was enjoying it until "she" pointed out that there would be a large section of the population who would happen to be watching a sports channel or reading the racing results when the Flashforward happened so ALL the bookies and event organisers would abandon the meetings/matches..therefore the bloke wandering around the baseball stadium on CCTV would'nt have been there and literally thousands of folk would'nt be where they see themselves in their visions...so the whole flimsy fascade collapsed for me.

I've really enjoyed the first 2 episodes.
It's a shame that this sort of long US drama has me thinking:-

'Ok so when is this going to go horribly wrong, cos it has 20 writers and they all want to introduce a plot'.

But so far so good.

Everybody dreamt (when they all blacked out) what they would be doing in 6 months time.
Sports organizers might have postponed all meetings, matches etc to counteract people knowing the results.
Nobody would be at stadiums.

But there's one slight downfall in the logic. The CCTV of the bloke at the stadium was in the present (during the blackouts), NOT in 6 months time, so he would have been (and WAS) there.

Easy.

I've given up on this already, did notice in the closeing credits last week that its based on a book so just going to pick that up and give it a go as i'm intressted to find out what the answer is but can't really be bothered to wait another 20 odd weeks.

Eh? The baseball stadium bit (with the bloke wandering around) took place DURING the blackout, NOT in the future. I grant you that bookies etc may not be too keen on opening up on that future day on the grounds that a large swathe of the population may have already known the results - but maybe they they would open up with a sort of 'So you think you know the future?' promotion.

Also the baseball games would probably go ahead for much the same reason, after all all you'd know would be the score for that ten minute period.
