Did we ever find out what happened to NSC's favourite chippy?

I believe he had a stroke and nearly died. His family tried to carry on for a few weeks but couldn't manage it and it finally closed its doors. I think the guy is still alive but in a bad way

There are some people on here who know more than I do and possibly even a current status.

It was a sad loss to Brighton - I've had so many chips from there over the years

Southwick Square is staying open whatever happens, apparently.

I rarely ate fish&chips when living in England. Living away, its something I crave. When at home for a few days, I will eat it everyday, usually the Syrian bloke in Portslade Old Village. Its decent if open.

Your local chippy needs your business now more than ever so if it is open go ahead and stuff yourself silly.

Sadly, I went past the other day and builders have scaffolding up and were taking building stuff inside. Just confirmation of what we already knew, Sing Li's isn't coming back

My local chippie, the Marine Fish bar is closed for two weeks. Shame as he does the best chips in town.

Sad. Lived next door to them for a few years. Must admit, my weight and skin has improved a tad since moving away:down:

I agree with this. Use them or lose them.

You could say there is also a moral argument to use deliveroo as often as you can to take pressure of the food distribution to supermarkets

Poland??
Got to be fair to the bloke. The Haddock is as good as ive ever had in Brighton. place has been there for years. I guess he paid attention when
they showed him the ropes.
Strangely, the best ive ever eaten was when I was staying in Victoria, a bit further up the hill from Holmfirth (Last of the summer wine).
First time there I took a bite whilst heading out, and on tasting it, rejoined the queue. Outstanding.

On another note. 2 quid for a portion of chips in one of the places on the seafront. I can remember a time when you couldn't carry 2 quids worth.
