Frazzles, until they took almost all the flavour away from them. A running theme with most snacks, removing all the fat, salt and sugar from them until they become so unpalatable that I stop buying them.
A bit like the vegan cafe near me. Their coffee is superb but their cakes and pastries have all the nice stuff removed from them.Frazzles, until they took almost all the flavour away from them. I was very surprised to enjoy a Vegan caramel and chocolate cheesecake in Caffè Nero recently, but I did.A bit like the vegan cafe near me. Their coffee is superb but their cakes and pastries have all the nice stuff removed from them.
You mean like the flavour !A bit like the vegan cafe near me. Their coffee is superb but their cakes and pastries have all the nice stuff removed from them.
Seeing that packet is like a nostalgia bomb to the guts. In my mind my first crisp may have been a Golden Wonder salt and vinegar though.Based on some posts on the first crush thread, I got wondering about people's first crisps.
Who was yours?
I used to love these 1970s classics.
It was like all the fun had been removed from the cakes. You mean like the flavour !
In a blue bag, not green which as every crisp connoisseur knows is cheese and onion.Seeing that packet is like a nostalgia bomb to the guts. In my mind my first crisp may have been a Golden Wonder salt and vinegar though.
Which is why crisps are so shit in France and elsewhere. The fecking French, who I love btw, are utter amateurs when it comes to crisps and snacks. We are world masters, by some distance.Went to a hotel in Paris about 5 years ago and they made their own crisps fresh with a rolling type machine .
Tesco Sea Salted, made in Ireland by Tayto don't; I saw this very same comment elsewhere a while ago and posted this pic; the 20th of March was a Monday; another packet had the 22nd of August which was a Tuesday.Fun crisp FACT....
ALL crisps made in the UK & Ireland go out of date on a Saturday!
Forget Captain Peacock. Surely Frank Thornton's finest hour in the tv advert for these!
I don’t remember an advert, just eating themForget Captain Peacock. Surely Frank Thornton's finest hour in the tv advert for these!
I went to school with the Janaways. They were providing spuds for Smiths at the time. Bloody minted they were too. As I’m sure they still are.Tesco Sea Salted, made in Ireland by Tayto don't; I saw this very same comment elsewhere a while ago and posted this pic; the 20th of March was a Monday; another packet had the 22nd of August which was a Tuesday.

It’s a good point. The French are usually the absolute masters when it comes to the humble potato: frites, gratin, dauphinoise, algot etc etc. But they struggle with the crisp. Weird.Which is why crisps are so shit in France and elsewhere. The fecking French, who I love btw, are utter amateurs when it comes to crisps and snacks. We are world masters, by some distance.
There is a solution.Frazzles, until they took almost all the flavour away from them. A running theme with most snacks, removing all the fat, salt and sugar from them until they become so unpalatable that I stop buying them.
