West Ham, November 1990.

Went with a mate from school. Mike Small (who joined the Hammers next summer for 400k) put Albion 1-0 up. They hadn't lost at Upton Park for over a year, were top of the league and the noise they made was frightening. West Ham eventually won 2-1. The thing I remember most about this was their support seemed to be made up of 18-40 year-old knuckle draggers. No place for the faint-hearted.

Really quite recent in the scheme of things. Don't remember my first home game but my first away game was only the 2-2 draw (and subsequent win on penalties) against Woking.
I've been making up for it ever since though!

Torquay United. Feb 2001.
1-0. Bobby Zamora of course!

We lined up with 10 Englishmen and a Welshman, with 2 more Englishmen coming off the bench!

That was a good night. Great way to start!

Luton. lost 0-3. Think it was April 16 1969.

Ground an absolute shambles, hardly a blade of grass on dustbowl of a pitch/

Up your alley
I think mine was Milwall away when we lost 3-1 and Fred Binney scored and it was like being in a war zone...that was 1974

That was my 1st away game too, shame Binney's goal was just a consolation.

It was actually Good Friday, 1976, and was my 2nd league game of 3 in 2 days while staying at my aunt's in Ealing.

I saw Brentford beat Swansea 1-0 in the morning before dashing back to my aunt's for lunch then across London in the sunshine to The Den.

The following day, rather than see Brentford at home again (they beat Exeter 5-1), I went to Aldershot to see Albion again, Wardy scoring in a 1-1 draw.

The semi at Highbury in '83, if a neutral ground counts.

Otherwise, Carlisle Utd in August of '83 (1st game of the new season i believe)... I may have been a JCL back then but certainly took my initiation seriously

Fulham, Easter Monday 1970. Lost 4-1. Don't recall if it was 'lively' or not.

On Good Friday we had beaten Reading at home, and Freddy Goodwin's team looked good to go up, but a shocking run in, winning just 1 of the final 5 saw us miss out. That was also the season when we played Walsall 4 times in the 2nd round of the FA Cup.

03 Mar 1974 Aldershot v Brighton and Hove Albion W 0-1 League Division Three

I think that was mine too - Didn't Lil Fucillo get sent off coming on as a sub for a vicious attack on an Aldershot player, if my fast diminishing young 10 year old mind of the time serves me right?

27th march 1976 Hereford away. Peter Ward's first Albion appearance and goal - after 52 seconds. Green shirts. O'Sullivan, Towner. Heaven.
