Not counting the numerous pleasure flights out of Shoreham as a kid, I loved flying. Actually going somewhere,
First flight Gatwick - Aden. British United. Brittania. 1965.
Last flight Dubai - Newcastle Boeing 777 Emirates. Final leg returning from Oz. 2017.

I once flew to Wildenrath on a Bristol Freighter. The plane had a problem and on landing we had fire engines running alongside the plane. No drama fortunately but it instilled a still present fear of flying

Thinking about, it could have been Gutersloh not Wildenrath

I was about 18 months old so made an educated guess on the plane. We lived in Monchengladbach for a year or so before moving to Brunssum in Holland for 3 years.

2019 - Rio de Janiero to Malaga via Casablanca. First leg Dreamliner, second leg Embraer. Air Maroc - what an awful airline!

Our last flights pre-lockdown (end-Feb 2020) involved all the joys of modern travel:

Snowed in at Narvik (northern Norway) for about 6 hours. Missed our Norwegian Air connection at Oslo back to Gatwick, so had to re-book on the last BA flight to Heathrow. Landed at Heathrow around midnight, then had to get a taxi to Gatwick - roadworks on the M23 meant it took ages, even in the early hours of the morning. Picked up our car, and drove back to Somerset - arriving home around 4.30am. Two hours kip, then up for work....

I sure miss the joy of flying!

Monchengladbach (saw my first live match there in a pre season friendly vs Arsenal). Also lived in Herford, Bielefeld and Munster. Military father obviously!

First ever flight was early 80s at Haywards Heath Rugby Club Fair, Whitemans Green. It was a brief pleasure flight in a helicopter.

First ever fixed wing flight was about 1987/8. Shoreham to Shoreham. Two seater Cessna as my brother had recently got his PPL. Even had a go with the controls.

First commercial flight wasn't until I was 28 in 1990. Gatwick to Dalaman.

Last flight was summer 2019, Gatwick to Rhodes.
