I have been hoping for Livermore replace Thomson for a while now and Virgo to replace Hawkins. We finally have it:ascarf:

Johnson for El-Abd and Thornton for Mcleod and we will have a brilliant team against Carlisle...

But with MA saying he is just "resting" those two, they will likely be back in the plans soon...I do agree Virgo in the back four makes much more sense than playing Hawkins, or playing Virgo out of position. Not so sure on the Livermore/Thomson issue, I'd rather have neither of them and have a midfield of:

Anyinsah
Thornton
Johnson
McLeod

Whilst that midfield would certainly get forward I would worry about the defensive qualities there. I think you need at least one midfielder who can tackle and help out the defence. For me (especially after last night) I would go for Livermore.

Shame that after Hawkins was dropped for Virgo and Thomson was dropped for Livermore that both the replacements may miss next game (Livermore suspended, Virgo injured)
