Saw Batman last night, and thought it was brilliant. Batman is quite easily the don of all superheroes.

Plus, he's banging Catwoman who is quite easily THE sexiest thing ever. Anne Hathaway, take a bow.

Can't wait for the next one...

I think, of the three, The Dark Knight is still my favourite. It explored the detective side of Batman which wasn't really touched on in Batman Begins or in any of the previous films. I did think The Dark Knight Rises was a great film though, if a little too summer action blockbuster for my tastes.

Love the interaction in the Dark Knight between Batman, Dent and Gordon.

Also, Heath Ledger's level of performance as the Joker was always going to be impossible to match.

I was hugely disappointed. Maybe I was just overthinking it.

For instance;
- when the bridges and the city are blown up there's no explanation of how. How something on that scale would go unnoticed made me skeptical.
- When the police are charging down the street towards the end, the enemy have about 20 AK47's I counted and opened fire. About 3 policemen you saw die, the rest managed to charge through to fight hand to hand. I'm sorry but the police would have just been mowed down!
- when the police come out of the caves as well towards the end they're all perfectly clean shaven, had lovely haircuts, and look in great shape. However there were a lot that went down with weapons; when they come back up they don't have any weapons.

I'm sure there were a few other things too. For me they tried to cram too much in to it. And I don't know if it was the cinema or not but I really struggled to understand Bane.

Overall, hugely disappointed.

Agree with all that. Was so many little things that detracted from the film as a whole. The escaping from that hole prision for one. And the waiting 5 months for the bomb to explode was just weird. Why no armed forces from outside the city could have mustered themselves enough people to fly in and help fight the baddies in that timescale I don't know.

Oh yeah another thing was with the bomb, I swear they said it would be 5 months till it explodes because it becomes so unstable. However, then it gets a timer that the bomb goes off to a very second? I was kind of under the impression the bomb would go off more 'roughly' in 5 months when it becomes so unstable, not due to a timer.

I wasn't totally convinced after seeing it once, went to see it again the next night, and then i loved it. The Dark Knight > The Dark Knight Rises > Batman Begins. Really not a fan of Hathaway, but she was great as catwoman. Tom Hardy was a bit of a waste as Bane tho.

Watched Batman & Robin on ITV2 the other day, unintentionally hilarious.

Agree with all of the points above, but with the exception of struggling to understand Bane's mumbling (a great scene would have been a long monologue by Bane followed by Batman going "what? eh? pardon?") I thought that these were minor points and didn't detract too much from what was a great film.

In my younger days I used to "read" what we called American Comics with the various Super Heroes. Most have been made into films or TV series but one Hero that has never been filmed is "Captain Marvel" who sometimes worked alone or as part of "The Marvel Family". I wonder why the omission.

Worked as a final instalment of a trilogy , but as a stand alone movie I thought it lacked. I have been crying out for more murderous/vigilante Batman for years , but I now yearn for some of the fantasy element to return. Keep him violent , but allow him to live in a universe with Superman and the Green Lantern .I felt the realism of the movie made the riot scene look like a man dressed in a fancy dress Batman costume, rather than it was Batman himself. I was half expecting to see a couple of Teletubbies and an Oompaloompa .

I beleive they are planning a reboot of Batman so he fits in with the much lauded Justice League movie. I have seen elements on a PS3 game trailer my son has. .My god if they can transfer that to the big screen , it will be immense.

Back to Dark Knight Rises. How come New York plays host to Gotham , when in the previous two movies , it was Chicago. Just a little nit pick.

Got a feeling Thanos appearing at the end of The Avengers is a way for Marvel to introduce characthers from their cosmic universe . I live in hope.
