Because I was hoping we were going to move!

So you turn up, and then want us all to move because you do not like the board? A bit full of yourself aren't you?

Cost. If Bozza has a standard 'perpetual' licence for 2.x, he'll have to buy another for 3.5 - around $180

If he has the full licence, the upgrade can take "a while". Boards.ie just went from 3.0.x to 3.5 and that took a full day

Doesn't NSC have about £3k in the bank?

Here are the BENEFITS from upgrading to 3.5.0 as taken from here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=156564

Thread title editing on forumdisplay via AJAX
This will make it quick and on the fly for the users to modify their thread titles

Thread opening and closing on forumdisplay via AJAX
Users who have permission to open/close threads will be able to use this by double clicking on the icon in front of the thread

Completely rewritten message editor with ability to instantly switch between standard and WYSIWYG modes
Your users will use this each time they post, they might want to hear this improved

Super-Quick Reply on showthread via AJAX
Just like the improved wysiwyg editor, now users dont' even have to reload a page to keep posting! They will love this.

Inline post edit on showthread via AJAX
And to top that, clicking on edit will now not reload the page, but simply make the post editable, with option to go advanced and to manage post deletion (if they have permission to do so)

Username suggestion for PM recipients and search by user via AJAX
Your users will really like this, not always do they know how to spell their friends names, now they dont have to! vb does it for them.

Database-based thread and forum read marking
No more complaints from users that threads show up as unread while they just read it.

MySQL Full Text Search
Might you use it, they might want to hear the improved search engine is online!

ImageMagick 6 Support (alternative to GD)
Better attachments thumbs, etc. They'll love it, might you use it.

Calendar events support start/end times
Easier to understand and use events in the calendar system. vB 3 and 3.5 supports multiple calendars, public and private calendars, explore it, use it and your members will return more often to your site.

Calendar event email reminders
And now they can receive an email about upcoming events, if they sign up for that. How cool is that?

Custom avatar and profile picture resizing
No more annoyances with invalid sizes, etc. vB will just do it for the members

Each attachment image type can be individually set to generate thumbnails or not
Each attachment image type can be individually set to open in a new window or not
Tell your members that certain files now open in new windows, generate thumbnails, etc .. it will make adding content to their posts more fun as they see direct results.

Moderated posts and threads do not contribute to post count until approved
Users might want to hear that, but i doubt it.

Language chooser in footer
Yay, multiple languages, and selectable on every page! Very easy to switch, just like with the multiple styles.

New bbcode parser now corrects invalid tag nesting to ensure valid HTML
Better post results, less hassle. More enjoyment, more posts!

New attach bbcode tag for placing attachments inline with messages
You can now place an image anywhere in a post, your members will love this.

New noparse bbcode tag for disabling bbcode parsing within
And if they have questions, they can bypass parsing with this unique tag.

Word wrap excludes contents of PHP/CODE/HTML blocks
Which helps make working with code easier and better overview.

New 'Can View Thread Content' permission
Less permission denied pages, more provoked to register - not sure if this is worth to mention to members, but just so you know.

New 'Can Upload Animated GIF' permission
Hate animated gifs? You can turn them off now, global option. Might you use it, maybe worth to mention to the members.

Attachment upload via URL in addition to local upload
If new attachment features were not enough, now users don't have to temp host their files or download them first to their hard drive, just enter the remote url: done!

Completely rewritten Paid Subscriptions system - now known as Payment APIs. New support for 2checkout, Worldpay and Authorize.net
Yay, buy content, buy access, buy features - bigger and better profile, more status: members love that

Right-to-left language support improved
May you use this, improved language support never hurts.

Ability to preview signature edits
Yes, much better now

And of course, numerous bugs and annoyances resolved.
Better browser support, and things like that.
