I'd like to say I enjoy seeing a few newbies getting the wind-up treatment from FG and rising to it...except I usually find myself getting embroiled in a pointless argument with him meself, so I'm in no position.

I have, however, just had two particularly pleasant Stella's in the sun, and the resulting endomorphines are now gliding round my brain, giving the entire afternoon a wonderful, mellow "couldn't-give-a-f***" type feeling. There's no chance of me rising to ANYTHING this afty. (cue obligatory erection puns).

The tickets don't to fans of other clubs but to chairmen, managers, scouts, shareholders etc.

A number of tickets of every match at Withdean are reserved for these extra people.

and then find their way into the hands of the real fans for excessive amounts of money.

At least that's the way it used to happen, thank God, as I got my Cup Final ticket that way having missed out on the vouchers and so on through not getting to many games due to living near Manchester and having a new baby in the family.

Ticket had 'Bolton Wanderers stamped on the back and cost me a fortune. Worth every penny.

they are only gonna have 7 days or so to sell these tickets and this is probably the best way to do it

I don't really blame the club for not putting priority on season-ticket holders, even though I am one.

a) Time constraints if we get there.
b) We have around 4,500 season ticket holders, yet we would be likely to get around 30,000 tickets for the game.

And yes, most allocations are dependant on average home games throughout the season. Around 10,000 tickets at the final occassions are taken for guests of honour, dignitries, promotions (competitions etc), and members of all football league clubs (not fans). That leaves an allocation of around 31,000 each.

Anyone know what the need for "identification" is as mentioned on the form? Is this just required for the person actually buying the tickets or do you need id for each ticket purchased?

ID is required to stop possible ticket touts getting there grubby little mits on a block of tickets. You will need ID for every person you are buying a ticket for.

He's right....

there's a ticket application form that can be downloaded from the official site. On which is says that ID will be required for each application. There's no restriction on applying on behalf of others but each application has to be made on a separate form. Although it doesn't say what sort of ID needs to be collected up from the people you are getting tickets for.
