Used to think Apocolypse Now was a masterpiece. It's okay but it's a bit of a mess really.

I used tp love Last of The Mohicans, shall watch again soon and see if it holds. I think it will I remember it being superb

Posh end of Shoreham
I watched Papillon the other day and it was a bit 'meh'.

I had just read the book, but remember the film being ace when I was younger.

They never made a follow up to Papillon but Henri charriere wrote a follow up book BANCO following his exploits after escaping Devils island , obviously not as good as Papillon but well worth a read

On The Buses - used to love the TV and film versions - bit cringey now Butler!

Holiday on the Buses is the only film I have ever walked out of at the Cinema - nearly 40 years ago. it was on a double bill with Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which was on first, luckily.

The thing that taints both books for me is that they are both supposed to be the products of Charriere's imagination to a large extent, rather than anything based on solid facts.
