Films that hardly raised a stir which you rate very highly.

I actually think The Village is UNDERrated.

I KNOW the twist at the end is woefully done, but I genuinely think that film would work really well without the final 20 minutes. The mood of the first hour or so while you're still working it all out is fantastic.

Remains of the Day(1993)
Some of the finest acting i have seen. Strong performances from Sir Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. IMDB 7.9/10 My score 9.8/10(purely on acting)

The Crow - Cheesy, 80s, but captures what it's trying to do PERFECTLY.

Contact.

A stunning looking film with yet another tour de force performance from the greatest actress of all time, Jodie Foster. 8.2

Twister,

Dunno why, just enjoy it. Most of it completely unbelievable, but I'll always watch if its on (if anything just for Helen Hunt in a tight white T shirt!)

Twister? That had loads of hype and press when it was released

Yes but it was not highly regarded at all. I liked it but then I am quite shallow. A similar cheesy fest which I enjoy is Dante's Peak.

Blade Runner

When it was first released it was a flop, only gaining a cult status. Now it is probably still regarded as one of the finest sci-fi films ever made.

I love Jingle at Xmas time. And you have forgotten the greatest Arnie cheesefest of all time. Commando. Very enjoyable.

The Descent. One of the best horrors I've ever seen but never really got that much attention.

Good call.
Add Mars Attacks at 6.3 - IMDB

I thought it was immense. The start with the panning back through the universe was stunning. The end disapointed a little with the scene on the beach. I guess it was all about heaven ? Not altogether sure but Foster was incredible, as always.

John Carpenter's The Thing and Starman both flopped in the box office and worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Blade Runner.

Starman is in my top 30 of all time. That is a cracking good call with one of the most moving scenes ever committed to celluloid. A pivotal moment in the film. It is a love story basically.
