I'm rarely surprised myself to be in the minority, and this seems to be the case with Conclave.

Great twist at the end, but that aside I cannot see what all the fuss is about. It's apparently likely to hoover up loads of awards but I just don't know why. I imagine if I was religious I'd be a bit more engaged. But when this comes on TV, I won't be watching
I do tend to agree - I watched it on a BA flight back from Hong Kong at the weekend, and with the current health issues of the current Holy Father (as a watcher of QI I know that his title ISN'T "The Pope"! ) thought it might be worth watching to see how they determine a new one. At least there was no mention of the mythical papal chair!

Boring By Sea
Watched Jaws the other day for the umpteenth time and noticed in the credits that it was released in 1975 , making this year the 50th anniversary. I’m sure there will be a cinema rerelease and some big screen showings over the Summer. Not sure if it would get through the board of classification as a PG today though. I saw it as a 9 year old and it was an A certificate which is the equivalent and was scared shitless. There is a bit of drug use at the start, multiple bloody attacks and a decapited head complete with maggots eating away at the eye! How it got passed at the time is interesting as I thought classifications were stricter then.

Bridget Jones mad about the boy

This was the best of the 4 films

A good story and a stellar cast. The film got stronger as it went along with some powerful and poignant scenes many I could relate to, ghosting and next of kin especially

38 of the 40 seats sold and I was surrounded by crying middle aged Women 35 women and 3 men

The actors were all on top form and Grant stole every scene he was in

It rates a very solid 81 out of 100

'Grand Theft Hamlet'

Documentary about a couple of bored actors in lockdown who decided to put on a production of Hamlet within GTAV.

The film is entirely 'shot' in the game.

I throughly enjoyed it.

Conclave.

What is the fuss about? Dull.
I didn’t find it dull though I wouldn’t have it as Oscar material myself. I thought it an engrossing movie with some of the usual required ingredients (for me) — suspense, plot twists including the totally unexpected but rather funny ending, decent acting, etc. I also found the subject matter and setting unusual and interesting. Maybe my Catholic upbringing had some thing to do with it! I can understand it not being everyone’s cup of tea but I did enjoy it.

Fienne’s performance was the one thing that kept me watching. He was good.

The Monkey. Bonkers. Fun. Very gory. Dunno how they got a 15 certificate but fair play to them.

The song that the drumming monkey plays did make me smile, having wandered onto the beach by the marina to kill a bit of time before the film, as I got down there early...

Mickey 17.

Too many plot lines. Jokes that didn't land. Felt like it was longer than 2hrs 20 but also felt like it had been trimmed down and had kept some of the wrong bits from an early draft.

A bit of a mess.

However, I enjoyed it and am glad that I saw it in the cinema but was a bit frustrated by it.

I'm still here.
Based on a true story of an engineer and his family during the Brazilian military dictatorship of the 1960s. He was taken by the military (or is it?) and his wife tries to find out what's occurin'.

I cried, I laughed (not much). The 138 minutes flew by. Excellently shot in Rio, some great performances and classic cars. A sobering lesson for anyone who quite fancies living under a strong leader.

Agree with the second half of the review. Enjoyed Ruffalo's Trumpesque characterisation and the related comment about aliens, and the surprise (to me, anyway) appearance of Tim Key made for a few chuckles. Wasn't so convinced by the creeper storyline and wonder if Bong Joon-ho could have ditched them and gone in a slightly different direction. Having said that, it was based on a book (Mickey 7) so possibly difficult to stray too much from that I guess...

Mickey 17's haircut did seem quite Dwayne Dibley/SEGW at times though which was quite amusing!

Yes, it's excellent. Fernanda Torres is amazing.
