watched quite a few this week as its my job,

Karate Kid - This was one of the best ive seen for a while, especially for a family film. Will Smiths kid was really good and nice to see Jackie Chan not playin a moron. 8/10

Jonah Hex - Quite short and sweet, blokes film, lots of badass cowboys beating each other up and megan fox in not many clothes. never read the comics so not sure how close to source material it is. 6.5/10

A Team - Thought this was really good. cheesy in places but thought Neeson and Cooper were good and Copley as Murdock was really funny. BA was always gonna be hard to do but wasnt terrible. 7.5/10

Toy Story 3 - As with all pixar animations a good film. not as good as the first one but better than the 2nd. funny in places. 7/10

Twilight Eclipse - Waste of time. Story was pointless and didnt really go anywhere from the end of the last one. 4/10

Get Him To The Greek - Funny film, just russell brand being himself really, Puff Daddy was good too. 7.8/10

Toy Story 3-D today at the Marina.

No where near worth the hype. Enjoyed the prvious ones in the series, but for me this was one sequel too far and once again a film to which the 3-D added nothing.

5/10

Inception
I guessed the ending when I saw the first full trailer, and several lines supported my suspicions. Despite this, I still thoroughly enjoyed it, good performances, great effects and imagery, good story that kept me interested. I still think The Prestige is Nolan's best film.

Toy Story 3 (in 2D)
It was good, but not the great that I was expecting. Perhaps somewhat due to the kids in my screening, including the group that came in near the end thinking it was the 3D showing, and spending a couple of minutes discussing whether they were in the right screen or not (here's a hint: the film is almost over and it's in 2D!)

Twilight Saga: Eclipse
A poorly constructed film, of a story full of clichés, about a trio of unpleasant characters, in an unhealthy relationship, where everyone ends up in the same place as they started. Just awful.

Predators
Decent, but pointless. It's an ok action film but adds nothing to the Predators mythology, and doesn't really leave a lasting impression.

A very good film , a love story of sorts. Boy meets Girl, Boy falls in Love with Girl, Girl does not feel the same, Girl dumps Boy, Girl moves on. mmmm that sounds familiar !. This struck home on many levels and is a well told, well acted film that is not the normal hollywood scmaltz. It has some great scenes especially a wonderful song and dance routine, witty and clever

Remember Me

A story of family and love. It sort of ends up in a dead end not really going anywhere but has poignant messages of family and love. Pretty boy Pattinson shows he is a decent young actor. The last 5 minutes are the pay off which is stunning and moving. I did not see that coming.

Inception -600. What a pile of steaming shit. One for Matrix loving, computer-game playing nerds only. Avoid at all costs (unless you need somewhere warm and dark to sleep for 2.5 hours at a cost of £7.50 - breakfast not included)

Inception- Absolutely brilliant, I dislike most of today's big budget/CGI action stuff but this was done superbly, and looked 'real'. Great acting, script and score and a film that's genuinely interesting and surpising throughout

Inception - That's some film.

I thought it had so many great elements of other films all thrown into one big melting pot, such as the recent Bond films, The Usual Suspects, The Matrix and also much of Michel Gondry's work.

It's definitely a film that jumps from pillar to post and therefore requires full concentration, but it's definitely well worth the attention in my opinion.

Shrek Forever After - 2D
I don't know if it was by design, or a result of being made 3D, but it was a lot darker. I'd say it was probably on a par with Shrek 3 but I barely remember Shrek 3 so don't know how accurate that is. It had a few moments of genuinely good things, but overall it felt like a sequel in that you know the people behind it can do something, but they've lost the freshness and joy for what they're doing and are just trying to get more money/success/praise, and trying to hard to repeat themselves. I wouldn't say it was awful, just nothing special.

The A-Team
I loved it! It was a load of fun, plenty of nods to the old tv show, while updating. It isn't too taxing on the brain. I thought everyone played their parts really well, except Jessica Biel who was, well, Jessica Biel. Patrick Wilson seemed to be enjoying himself.

Stay to the very end of the credits for a bonus scene.

Did you watch the bank robbery dance scene in the extra features? That's cute.

I didn't watch the extra scene's but loved the song and dance routine after he had first shagged her. All in all the film was an absolute delight from start to finish.

Gainsbourg

I went to see this at the beloved Dukes on a whim after reading it had a high score on rottentomatoes, knowing little about the man (apart from J'taime obviously) but thinking perhaps he was a bit similar to leonard cohen...

 what a mistake. A dire film full of truly abysmal music, crap acting and irritating use of alter ego. And learnt very little about the man. Hated it, 1/10.
