Didn't realise how serious their hatred of each was until we had a group of PSG lads join up with the English in Marseille for the Euros. They had come down from Paris specifically to fight Marseille fans who would attack us..

We went many times to small ski resort near Briancon, run by a French guy (a St Etienne supporter), who told us about the animosity between the public from Marseille and Paris. Thankfully their February holidays are staggered so they rarely meet, but there's been trouble on changeover days when they might. He was unbiased either way, but described Parisians as arrogant :lolol:

We used to get this in Chamonix on school holidays, always fighting if the 2 groups of fans crossed paths. Cham-Sud looked like a war zone one night outside Monkey bar and it wasn't the Irish for a change.
