Gary lineker is one unhappy man in Twitter. Some very well written tweets

Here's my prediction.

FIFA will re elect Blatter.
Blatter will somehow avoid any charges.
UEFA will make noises.
The sponsors will do nothing other than sabre rattling.
Russia will host 2018
Qatar will host 2022.

Football is dead.

Football Association chairman Greg Dyke does not expect Sepp Blatter to stay as Fifa president, despite the Swiss winning a fifth term in charge, saying "this is not over by any means".

"Britain’s Serious Fraud Office has said it is actively assessing material relating to alleged corrupt payments to officials connected to Fifa.

There had been suggestions that British authorities could open up a new front in the global investigations into world football’s governing body after the US Department of Justice issued a 47-count indictment charging 14 defendants with racketeering, wire fraud and money-laundering conspiracies.

While the SFO has not launched a criminal investigation, it released a statement on Friday that said: “The SFO continues actively to assess material in its possession and has made plain that it stands ready to assist continuing international criminal investigations.”

The SFO, which can investigate “cases that undermine UK commercial/financial PLC in general and the City of London in particular”, is believed to have been following claims of bribery concerning the decision in 2010 to award the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to Russia and Qatar respectively."

We're coming for you, we're coming for you, Sepp Blatter, we're coming for you

I'm looking forward to both World Cups, in fact the match times will be far better than Oz or USA and the new build stadiums more fun than the retreads used for 94 or the MCG
Fuss over nothing

And if we want anything to change, we have to leave. UEFA has to leave. Any idea what's happened to that $1m?

It has been spent by the Bhutan Football Federation as they see fit. They recently beat Sri Lanka twice in the last six weeks, to rocket up to 168th in the FIFA rankings.

I guess this is supposed to be witty, but it's over my head.

"Swiss investigators are looking into 53 possible cases of money laundering and 104 incidents of suspicious activity in Swiss bank accounts as part of their investigation into the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

The head of Fifa’s audit and compliance committee, Domenico Scala, has already reiterated that there could be a revote for 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 tournament in Qatar if clear evidence of bribery emerged.

The Swiss attorney general Michael Lauber, giving an update into the Swiss investigation that is running in parallel to an FBI inquiry that has already resulted in 14 executives being charged and plunged Fifa into crisis, said investigators were examining “nine terrabytes” of data from Fifa’s Zurich headquarters and Swiss banks."

But they can't arrest them, they're busy working in Zurich hence why they couldn't make the world cup presentations! Maybe he's looking into why thousands of people have been killed and thousands more will be before the construction of the Qatar World Cup is complete; maybe he thought about holting the building work and giving it to another country thus saving thousands of lives. After all his conscience is clean.

Chuck Blazer: Fifa imposes life ban from football on former member

Fifa has banned former executive committee member and ex-Concacaf general secretary Chuck Blazer from all football related activity for life.
Blazer, 70, worked undercover with prosecutors in the United States after pleading guilty to charges of bribery, money laundering and tax evasion.

In May, several Fifa officials were arrested on charges of racketeering, fraud and money laundering.

A Fifa statement said Blazer "committed many and various acts of misconduct".

Overall, 14 people were indicted, with the US justice department alleging bribes and kickbacks estimated at more than $150m (£97m) over a 24-year period
.
Blazer was the second highest official in Fifa's North and Central American and Caribbean region (Concacaf) from 1990 to 2011 and also served on Fifa's executive committee between 1997 and 2013.

The US must think they have a pretty good case to be requesting extradition. Shame Blatter isn't in the mix yet, unless they're keeping their powder dry for now.

Very noticeable that the boy Blatter was nowhere to be seen at the Women's WC. Perhaps he was nervous about being collared by the ROZZERS.

Indeed - in fact i believe his only planned overseas "jaunt" at the moment is a trip over to Moscow to see his mate Putin
