It needs the Swiss police force to start investigating FIFA, no doubt under pressure from the Swiss government, whom should be put under pressure from the British government and others. Blatter et al think they are above the law, they are not.

I can't see us as a country pulling out of FIFA, however if corruption got worse - or if a decent sized scandal broke - then you may see some friction between FIFA and UEFA leading to a state of Europe and the rest in world football. Also liked the bit at the end mentioning the IOC looking into the allegations, they may also bring pressure to bear, though they used to be just as bad as FIFA (maybe they still are?)

The IOC have cleaned themselves up a lot following the Salt Lake City winter olympics issue. They no longer allow IOC members to visit the candidate cities and have a wider voting body than FIFA. They also have open voting so everyone can see which bids each person voted for. The problems with FIFA are mainly around the above (small electorate - based on one or two voters from each region - leading to a greater possibility that corrupting one or two key officials will pay off; closed voting so nobody knows who voted for which bid; FIFA voting delegates being hosted by the candidate countries). If they stopped that it would make a big difference to the likelihood of corrupting the vote. But do turkeys ever vote for Christmas?

I didn't bother with this one as the first programme was so poor, and largely amounted to a bloke in a carpark shouting questions to FIFA officials from 50 yards away as they climbed into cars.
