All round the fields of Falmer Road,
Where once, we watched, Vicente play (and could he play)
We had Buckley on the wing,
We had dreams and songs to sing,
of the glory, round the fields, of Falmer Road

I sing the words to gosbts. I am in a minority unfortunately but really want to get the whole stadium singing.

Constructive criticism gratefully accepted. Being told to f off unnecessary but oh well!

Apologies. Aimed tongue in cheek at your IDEA, rather than you personally.

An all time classic song that does sound great when sung by a crowd... Not sure how we could use it though?

Exactly , however I have no doubt many teams fans will be "nicking" it next season , sounded superb when the Irish sang it against Spain.

We need something new , something else with our identity

I understand that the OP is inspired by the singing, but trying to get a song like this off the ground is not a good idea.

You need to look into the history of the anthems. Where they come from, who sings them and why is so important. To be honest, I think it would be an insult if we started airing stuff like this. I hope no Ireland or Liverpool fans visit the thread - or if they do they just see it as a misguided compliment.

I don'tlike it at all. I confess that i like you'll never walk alone though. I think the fields of wherever is dreary.

Local band, fantastic anthem, easy to convert to the terrace

"There's only one team in life and that's Brigh-ton, Brigh-ton, Brigh-ton"

Why is that boring? I honestly don't understand the rules here, I got an infraction for the same comment.

Precisely but there is a way to report this

To the tune of The Levellers "What a beautiful day"

What Bri-ghton day hey hey, What Bri-ghton day......

I am actually quite pally with Mark (lead singer). I'll ask him to re write the tune and perform it before kick off :lolol: Not sure if he's a fan of ours. It would deffo take off if he would perform it for us in person if he was allowed by the club!

Can't get this out of my head!

Hearing the Irish singing Fields of Athenry reminded me of being at anfield last season when they started singing Fields of Anfield road and how brilliant it sounded

So I have been amateurishly playing with possibilities... not great but the opening line is winning!

All round the fields, of falmer road.
There are voices singin'
Buckley running down the wing, a cross to macca to fire it in
How I love it round the fields of falmer road

We could change it to " The waters of Falmer Pond", same tune. What do you reckon.?

I can't bear the Fields of Athenry. It's a complete dirge to me, whether it's Liverpool, Celtic or Ireland fans droning on.

It's a no from me.
