But this is the UEFA FFP which doesn't affect us. A very different animal to the FL FFP; the key difference being the FL clubs voted their FFP in themselves.

....and interestingly (or not), a Premier League team has just recruited the two accountants who drew up the UEFA FFP rules as 'consultants'.

I wonder why?

you said ir "formed a liason" If you read others posts, then you will realise that your hypothetical suggestion wouldnt wash with FFP.

I would leave it if I were you. The rules were brought in football chairman to assist with reducing club debts. Tony Bloom is in favour of this, as FFP helps reduce BHA debts and consequently his pocket. I have a feeling that not many Chairman will want to flout the rules.

Just a thought as we have now formed a liaison with SUSSEX County Cricket Club, in theory could the club or one of its directors donate £10m to the cricket club and a week later the cricket club donate £10m to us to circumvent this rule.

Silly old bat
Watford seem to be getting round it very well by 'buying' players for a pittance from their associated clubs.

That is the crunch statement I am certain that some, maybe only a few or even a couple will see the prize and the money in The Premier as good reason to try to get around the rules, eg clubs owned by foreign investors like Forest and Leeds

I think what Paul Barber is trying to do is a great idea, if we manage to get in line with FFP regulations this season, most clubs in the league won't. So if QPR go up, they'll make a loss of around £60m or something, and will be subject to a FFP tax of around £40m. That £40m will be split between all of the clubs that do comply with the regulations. If we're one of only 4 clubs that comply, say, we'll get £10m from QPR.

In addition to that, we'll get a portion of their parachute payments, and those of any other recently relegated clubs that gets promoted. We could potentially run the club on the failings of others.

Put's you in a great position? Losing £9M per year? Really?
We WERE losing 8 million.

Next accounts season we'll find out how much Mr Barber has narrowed that deficit by.
The perceived wisdom is it'll be £3m down to a comparatively 'healthy' £5m debt.

Not as worried about this as palace fans seem to be.

The strategy is, with Tony's generosity, to run the club to the maximum FFP allowed loss to ensure the highest possible playing budget.

The stadium is sponsored (and the terms of that deal probably prevent sponsorship of individual stands). The shirts are sponsored. All the 1901 lounges are sponsored. The family area is sponsored. Gully's Girls are sponsored. Albion in the Community is sponsored.

Which eight presently sponsor-free areas of the club's activities do you suggest are likely to be seen to have a commercial sponsorship value of ONE MILLION pounds?

Could follow Man Utd's lead and get the new training ground sponsored for £120m.....http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22060822

I was replying to a post about some clubs spending over 100% of their income on player wages. I think our current 60% puts us in a "great position." now and moving forward.
