The Bournemouth fans that used to frequent this board were adamant that they were within FFP and got very upset that we could think otherwise I seem to remember. Anyway they have got away with it as the fine will be minuscule compared to the rewards for cheating

Bang on. Bournemouth breaking FFP is massive news but under the headline of the clubs with transfer embargo and also having the news released on Christmas Eve means this will go under the radar.

But surely media darlings plucky little Bournemouth couldn't possibly have cheated their way to promotion could they ?

Did Leicester ever fail FFP in the end ? Is there a fine waiting for them if ever they come down ?

The Football League have also confirmed they are still in discussions with a number of other clubs over their FFP submissions and have not ruled out issuing any further embargoes.

I don't get this, where does the grey matter come into play? It is black and white isn't it? You either fail or you pass?

Leicester are still under investigation, I think. They were within the limit if their accounts were taken at face value; however something like 12m of their income came from a 'marketing and licensing deal' with a company that describes its business as management consultancy, of which there are a number of slightly suspect aspects: this multi million pound company is based in a small unit in a Sheffield business park; it has no on-line presence or any other notable marketing; and most significantly, it is owned by the son and daughter of a friend of Leicester City's owner.

Slightly suspect, and it takes away a lot of the admiration that I have for Leicester and the way that they've really upset the form this season.

I thought that there was a clause within FFP that effectively said any creative accounting, e.g. ludicrous sponsorship deals from related companies, would be treated as an illegal cash injection?

Football league have confirmed the above two clubs, along with Millwall and 'plucky little' Bournemouth, broke FFP rules.

Fulham and Forest can't sign players in Jan window, similar with Bolton who didn't submit accounts.

Millwall not punished as relegated.

Bournemouth have to pay fine when relegated.

Still silent about QPR's loss of £60 million in 2013/14. Football League scared of creative accounting and expensive lawyers used by Fernandez and co. It makes Enron look like Mother Theresa.

Are there any rumours, gossip, vaguely in the know information regarding what is going on with this? The last anyone seems to have said anything was when the papers announced months ago that a deal had been struck for 8m or something, but clearly this was speculation.

I believe the Football League have employed Bjork as their spokesperson on this issue. She was last heard to say "It's oh so quiet".

If QPR haven't broken the rules then the FL should have said this a year ago.

If QPR have broken the rules then they should pay the £50-60 million fine which is due to go to charity.

The silence suggests lawyers are getting rich by arguing over the minutae of the rules.

FFP fines will never be collected as the owners of the clubs that are to be fined are happy to throw a few more millions at their lawyers and therefore the effectively toothless authorities will never go toe to toe with them. See QPR for proof that it's easy to get around any regulations if you are willing to throw enough money at it.

How do we think Middlesbrough have done at staying within FFP limits this year?

Nah, even paying 12 million for Rhodes in January will probably still keep them claiming they are within them

As a point of interest could we become one of the fails in January, some of the figures being bandied about on targets are pretty big???
