if you also take my initial point that Ferguson DID NOT blame the premier league in his interview, I fail to see what POINT you are making.

So everything in quotations in my post, which were cut and paste from the BBC website, were made up by the BBC correspondant ??? , maybe Fergie did another interview at the press conference after the TV cameras were put away

My point is, that although you rightly pointed out Milan played on Sunday - you can't compare the two if Milan rested their best players...it is not something I am passionate about!

It's a choice the managers make about what they feel their priorities are. This thing about 'best players' falls flat if you consider that, because they are challenging for several titles at the end of the season, their squads ought to be big or good enough to handle it, thereby making the 'best players' tag null and void.

"Leagues in other countries would help their clubs no end so they can prepare properly for European nights, so there is a problem there," he said. "We've not had much help from the Premier League."

That's a pretty thinly-veiled accusation of blame. But, I'm not really making a point, merely countering those who think Fergie has a point. I don't think he does.

All I am saying is that as we know very well that the press take certain parts of an interview and make it the main point i.e completely missing Ferguson saying they were beaten by a better team etc...

Ferguson does not do interviews for BBC - The sky interview was NOT blaming the premier league for the defeat, he stated that it may be something to look at in the future.

The Man City quote was not about the Champions league, but about the premiership race and how they would 'get themselves up for that'

I repeat I am not a huge fan of Ferguson, but this was an interview in which I thought he came across fair and honest.
