Good clip this.

Ferdi has excellent English!

It's looking more like the Ferdi speculation and the Barco possible exit are independent of each other
I think the Boscagli and Barco rumours are more linked than Ferdi. Pervis and Ferdi are the attacking options. Veltman and Boscagli would be the defensive options, with Hinsh being used all over the pitch.

Also not saying that Pervis and Ferdi can't defend, just they have different playing styles.

Boscagli also can play as a CB in a 2 and a 3.

Inverted wing backs are becoming more common.
But we're not playing with wing backs

It's possible that we might start to do this, particularly if we get a left centre back, but I would suggest it's unlikely given the number of forward players and midfielders we have not playing anyway

There are 3 or 4 examples that have been mentioned of inverted full backs. None of them recent. It's rare.

The hunch you express that I do agree with is that Ferdi will predominantly be a right back

Seeing as we need a right back, we have a top quality left back in Estupiñan, Ferdi is right footed and Ferdi says he prefers the right, I think it's safe to say he'll often play on the right. But you can bet we'll see him utilised elsewhere too.

Think my first two posts from the thread:
This one probably isn't happening until the very end of the window, if it happens at all. If no one comes around with the £50m, or whatever bag of money they're looking for, they might just settle for £35m or whatever we're willing to give. Don't think they're in a position to do "£50m or we're keeping the lad".

Normally he would have moved by now, but the market is slow. No one is going to pay the £50m.

They are going to want to sell him. The nice £10m good-Euro 2024-tax is too valuable to miss out on. If he's still around at deadline day, he'll move for some £30m then.

With each passing day, he is more likely to become a Brighton player. Other clubs get cold feet and look for another options, while we appear to be lurking in the depths of the lagoon, ready to catch our prey at the optimal time: when he is cheaper than now, in our reach but too expensive for the other clubs limited by FFP (and whatever the other shit is called).

Quite optimistic about this one. Normally its one that moves higher up in the food chain but our financial position puts us very high in that food chain right now.

...is basically what we're seeing now.

If its not done today, he's not playing against United and if he's not playing against United, our desire to get it done now might wane, and we could go into another week of this presumed standoff... before he eventually joins us cheaper than if he'd gone today.

Does anyone know how Estupinan’s rehab is going and when he might be back?
I’ve been following him on his Insta account. He’s been working hard in the gym over the break and he’s now back on the grass. He’s looking fit and strong.
I’d think that we may see him back after the International break but obviously there’s no official confirmation.
