Whilst we 'spent a lot at the end of a window', I'd hazard a guess that Winstanley and his crew had been tracking him for many months, if not years. No way it was an end of window panic buy. Needs time to prove one way or the other.

Esp when he was bought on the 18th of January.

The recent recruiting has been immense and they probably had been tracking him. but they can’t get everything right . This one felt like a panic, at least at that price.
I’m not sure why everyone presumes that behind the mediocre record in the Dutch league , the injury and the largely anonymous performances for us, there’s a pot of gold. I wonder if it’s BECAUSE he cost so much.
Anyway I hope he comes good if he stays.

My original point was if we could get our money back , I would do it in a heartbeat. We spent a lot on him at the end of a window. There’s nothing in his record either for us or before to suggest he’s worth 15 mill. He was overpriced.
We don’t really need him anymore and he doesn’t fit into our system.
I’m not saying he’s shit , I’m saying it would be good business to get our money back if we could

How do you know he doesnt fit our system? He only played 6 times since arriving in January, because as said previously he wasnt 100% fit and Murray went on a rapage.

Players do not arrive and immediatly fit, they take time to bed in and get used to how a team plays. Jusding him after such a small amount of apperances and claiming he was over priced when you know very little about him is a bit of an over reaction.

Perhaps not, but he is more like Murray, so once Murray had run his socks of Hughton wanted to bring someone on to play the same style football as it was working for us at the time.

Sounds like Locadia doesn't fit CH's footballing style then. This is probably why he hasn't been played. I really doubt CH will change the tactics and formation just so Locadia feels more comfortable.

Why? He started against Manchester United in the cup and looked useful cutting in from a more wide posistion. Good to have the options.

How do we know that if Murrary hadnt been on such goal scoring form that Locadia may have started a few more?

Because, like you said, he isn't a Murray/Ulloa type centre-forward. Unless you're suggesting that CH is going for a totally different formation and tactics next season, how is he ever going to get games with us? The FA cup maybe?

From the Internet - Locadia played 224 minutes of Premier League football, and scored 1 goal with 1 assist.

Why would he have been signed in the first place if he doesn't fit CH's footballing style ? I'm pretty confident CH has a say in this, we're not lumbered with with Burke and his Excel spreadsheets any more.

What if CH is looking to evolve the forward position into something faster than a glacier...

Say what you like about Burker but at least he didn't go on holiday every summer and January, only to come back to his desk in a panic just before the window slams shut.

Well ok, there is that.

Apparently he'd bring some home made cheese straws into the office on the last Monday of every month as well. Bet you don't get THAT with PW.

The only way Tony will be able to sack Winstano on Christmas eve will be if they are sharing the same flight.
At least with Burker you knew where he was...

...at the Chelsea academy.

Im not suggesting CH is going for a totally different formation next season, what im saying is we will have a WHOLE season from him, not just a few months where he is injured. There will be some games where im sure Hughton and his team will have done their homework and perhaps decide he will be a better option than Murray/Andone.

I'd be surprised if CH and Bloom wanted to make their record transfer fee a bit part player. Terrible transfer business if so.
