[Albion] Feeling strangely positive.

My fear is that the players lose confidence not just in themselves, but in Potters methods. If there are rumblings of discontent in the dressing room over certain players being dropped and the constant chopping and changing of the team and formation, and results don't pick up, then it can quickly become a vicious circle. If they lose belief in what they are being asked to do, then we will be in serious trouble.

Agreed

This is exactly my fear, and what I was concerned may have started to creep in in the last 2 games. If you keep trying something over and over and over again and it keeps failing, you will start to doubt it at points.

And the way Potter wants us to play requires supreme confidence IMO.

The pundits who all said careful what you wish for when Hughton was sacked will be proved right if we sink. Can see the match of day sky bt telling us so and would just bloody hate them rubbing it in if that happens

They may claim they're proved right, but they're not at all. Maybe we'd be top 10 now with Hughton? But maybe if we had continued in the manner of last season we'd instead be rock bottom now?

If only all arguments could be undone with every possible use of ' we suck'

I am trying to stay positive, but at the same time trying to stop caring so much. I am a dad of 2 in his 30s. I need to stop getting in such a grump when we lose.

I agree about the style of football and us not being as sucky as the bunch last year. However, I will brag about a result if we snatch a cheeky 1-0 when being battered, so take a loss as a big negative despite the stats being favourable. I am a particularly negative person with sport. I blame years of Brighton and England football and English cricket

Good luck with getting less grumpy after Albion defeats , as you get older 😀

And supreme concentration at the back for 90 minutes, with our passing game around our own box. The opposition only have to get lucky once or twice.

If we can start getting more confident in front of goal eventually we're going to give someone a hammering. No pun intended.

The problem is we've not really been much all season, bar the odd flash (Spurs, Arsenal).

Pop is dead, Killer Cars & Banana co for me, with the pyramid song, last flowers & four min warning. That’s my best of.

As for ‘how’ they came up with Paranoid Android, well listening to Queen (prophets song and rhapsody) along with a splice of Kansas & possibly even the gates of Babylon by Rainbow. Clever musical magpies Radiohead, very clever.

Brilliant, near genius level band however.

I love the b sides - bishops robes is another brilliant, brilliant tune... pearly too, which I think was also a b-side.

Yes I am sober and yes I’ve finally noted my error, oh well it kind of sits well with my madcap persona.

Feeling better about Albion than Tuesday but still think we need at least one major new player and a change of playing style to get out of this.
If potter and bloom genuinely think the squad as is is strong enough, then we will go down.

From Huddersfield newspaper:

“while a figure of £5m has been reported in sections of the media, ExaminerLive understand the package - taking into account the significant loan fee already paid by Brighton and Mooy's wages they've taken on board - is well north of that amount.”

Everyone should watch the highlights v Bournemouth on Seagulls player. Yes we should have beaten a team below us and at their lowest ebb of the season but although we defended poorly and Bournemouth done a Leicester, Sheffield United on us we actually had a lot of shots on goal. t.

Have just done that.

You are right, we would come away with pts from that sort of performance more often than not.

Here's a straw to clutch at.

West Ham play Liverpool three days before we go there. As it's at home, they probably won't feel able to save any players for the more winnable game against us, so may well be tired after chasing Salah and company around.

Could this be the game that Liverpool lose their unbeaten record? I am 100% convinced the defeat will come against an unfancied team, due to over confidence.

we're lacking someone who can split the opposition midfield/defence and get a quick shot on goal.this passing game looks good but it gives way too much time for the opposition to get behind the ball and by the time we are ready to mount an attack they have 10 player around the goal. seen this time and time again against lower half teams this season.

Our best performances (though not all wins) have been against the (traditional) top 6 teams when they dont all run back to defend. Even in the Liverpool & City games we were a lot better than against Villa and Bournemouth . In fact in the post match interview against City away, Pep even congratulated us, despite a big defeat, on playing attractive football and being prepared to come and attack them..seems a lifetime ago now..

Knowing our inconsistent play it will be us, at least Liverpool wont get 10 players behind the ball when it takes us 5 minutes to pass the ball from our own goal area to theirs. Can see it now in the press, "Liverpool fans dispear that unbeaten record finally ends against Lowly Brighton" followed a few weeks later by "Brighton relegated after failing to win another point after beating champions Liverpool"
